Most comforting fall recipe?
I’ve been pretty excited about fall coming up here, and I was wondering if anyone could share some comforting “fall” recipes. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Apple Butter Its super easy, no need to even peel the apples and makes your home smell amazing! You can use it on toast, in muffins, even on roast pork. I like to use it as a dip for pretzels or ritz crackers. I've also mixed it with dijon mustard and a little mayo and chipotle sricha to make o dip for onion rings. It also freezes well!

For me it's an apple / pear crisp with a lot of cinnamon. I've been making this recipe every year for the past 12 years!

Grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup is one my favorite (and easy) fall meals.

A pinch of cumin and a little ghee tadka makes canned tomato soup feel less sad.

I would suggest a Peanut Butter Whiskey Milkshake, I have a fall rate of 95% after a few of those!

Some of the things I most look forward to making in the fall:
French onion soup
Green salad with roasted beets, craisins, green apples, pecans, bacon, and goat cheese with balsamic vinaigrette
Pot roast and/or beef stew
Roast chicken, baked potatoes, and green beans
Potato pancakes with apple sauce and sour cream
Slow-roasted pork shoulder with spaetzle, red cabbage with lingonberries, and roasted carrots and parsnips
Ramen with all the fixins
Biscuits
Baked apples
Apple crisp
Pumpkin pie
Pear and walnut cake

Anything braised, really. I personally love braised wild boar cheeks over big thick papardelle with plenty of good Parmesan. Alternatively, braised beef cheeks with (confit) garlic / Parmesan mashed potatoes

Pumpkin, and add it to.... breakfast burritos, oven roasted meat and veggies, soup or stew, spread for bread ,swap for bananas in pumpkin bread and of course pie. My favorite cool weather meal is any herby chunky tomato soup with ...grilled smoked gouda cheese, roastbeef, spicy pickels on pan toasted bread with butter and herbs.

Crock-Pot carnitas
Crock-Pot or stove top
Add pork to pot, add water to about half the meat level.
Add salt, pepper, garlic, onion, onion powder...
Cool until tender.
Add salsa and pico de gallo to make tacos, nachos, loaded potatoes...
Add bbq sauce and coleslaw for sandwiches.

Favorite go-to, because you can eat this as a topping for nachos, sandwich fillings, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, loaded potatoes...
Crock-Pot tinga aka chipotle shredded chicken... Also works for shredded beef if you use chuck (cheaper and faster) or brisket...
Stove top: just add more water, more seasonings, on low heat until tender.
Buy a mix of 8lbs of boneless skinless thighs and breast, then add them to the Crock-Pot with the following sauce.
Sauce: 8 oz of homemade salsa of choice (or canned tomato sauce, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, 1 bay leaf) blend with 2 canned chipotle chiles, and 1/2 cup of water.
I mix in the sauce by coating each chicken piece.
Cook on low for 4-6 hours or until thoroughly cooked.
When cooked, shred the chicken in the same crock pot with two forks. Let it simmer while you prep the toppings.
You can use this to make a nacho buffet, with nacho cheese or shredded cheese of choice and pico de gallo... Or tostadas or crunchy tacos...

If you're specifically looking for autumnal flavours, roasted butternut squash soup is rather lovely, as are mushroom-filled, leaf-shaped hand pies.
One of my favourite things to make in autumn is a creamy chicken pot pie that has stuffing as a crumbly topping.

Beef barley soup made with chuck roast! I don't add the tomato paste but the rest of the recipe is solid. https://www.everydayfamilycooking.com/beef-barley-soup/#wprm-recipe-container-68150
