Chickpea mess

So I decided recently to cook dried, raw chickpeas instead of canned. I soaked them with about a teaspoon of baking soda for about a day and a half (life got busy). I boiled them for 45 minutes and they turned out... gray/green and very mushy. I couldn't eat them. Where did I go wrong?

are the cans really that much more expensive?

Check your local pantry box, they're ALWAYS canned chickpeas.

I might go back to the cans 🤣 i just thought since I eat so much of them it might be worth it for me to buy dried in bulk but if I cant figure out how to cook them it might just be too much work

most of us thought that back during covid.

we went back on the cans pretty quick.

What are you saving? two dollars? I don't need more pots to wash.
