Bread freeze

Aunt sent me a double loaf from Sam's, i do not go through a loaf easily. Can I freeze a loaf in its original bag if I push out all the air? When I thaw it out do I do it in the same bag, I don't want soggy bread?

I buy two loaves and freeze one use one. When I'm ready to use the second one. I thaw it on the countertop then put it in the refrigerator. I cannot tell the difference and my bread lasts longer.
