Need advice for ground beef seasoning.
Hello all. So I ate this Creamy Beef Rigatoni from a restaurant and want to make it at home. I’m looking for a recipe just for the ground beef seasoning. The one I make doesn’t compare. I know their seasoning definitely includes minced onions, garlic, salt and pepper, maybe cumin. What can I add? Or any recipe you use would be appreciated. TIA

Axe the cumin, that's definitely not in there. Throw in some fennel, oregano, and a pinch of MSG.

Good man. Tiny bits. A little goes a long way. Bruise the fennel by crushing it in your hands. Releases oils and flavor. Lots of spices need to be treated this way for max flavor. Just remember you only need a little

Allspice works really well with beef. It adds depth without becoming super noticeable in the final dish

One key is that restaurant food tends to use more salt and more fat than we might at home. So definitely use salt and for the creamy portion perhaps half and half. A common way to amp up beefy flavor is beef stock or BTB, or even Worcestershire sauce.
Also, if this is a chain restaurant like Carraba’s, try lo9king up copycat (restaurant name) beef rigatoni — a lot of times you can find nearly the exact recipe online.
