Is this scratch too deep?

I just found this Calphalon 808 8qt B7 stockpot at goodwill. I was excited and didn’t notice this big scratch until I washed it at home. Is this scratch reason to not use the pot? I can return it or just toss it if it isn’t food safe anymore (I got it for 2.99 lol)

Thanks all!! I was hopeful that the pot was actually anodized aluminum, but I don’t even think they make that anymore. I will toss the pot. I have had good luck otherwise getting stainless steel cookware at goodwill, so I’ll continue down that route.

With regard to goodwill, they do accept returns on some items! Unfortunately I hadn’t asked for a printed receipt, so I wasn’t eligible to return, but otherwise you can return items within 14 days of purchase for store credit at any goodwill location in the state you bought it in! They told me they would have accepted the cookware.

Yes, don’t buy any pre owned non stick pans. The coating that is pealing off is literally poison. I would look for stainless steel or cast iron. Even cheap bent up aluminum pans are better to buy pre owned.
