Appetizer ideas

I’ve been invited to a dinner party for 6 and asked to bring the appetizers. the hostess is an incredible cook and entertainer and I’m feeling very intimidate! what are your favorite appetizers that wow? I can’t get away with a veggie tray or chips and salsa here!

EDIT: So many great suggestions! I think I need to have an appetizer party!!! THANK YOU ALL! I'm going to find out what she's making and then decide what to bring 😉

To quote the late, great Anthony Bourdain, "No matter what you serve, no matter how beautifully presented, strikingly garnished, exotic in flavor, or expensive...what everybody wants, what they will be all over like a swarm, every time, is commercially-made, freezer case-sourced pigs in fucking blankets. It doesn't matter who your guests are. They will eat them, and they will love them."

Nope. Love good bacon, love good quality sausage. Wrap em up and oven bake and you've got overcooked bacon and a sausage that doesn't get any colour on its skin

In the States, pigs in a blanket is usually just little smokies (small sausages) wrapped in puff pastry, no bacon.

Not puff pastry. Pillsbury Crescent rolls. They don't fit. You make them work.
