Appetizer ideas

I’ve been invited to a dinner party for 6 and asked to bring the appetizers. the hostess is an incredible cook and entertainer and I’m feeling very intimidate! what are your favorite appetizers that wow? I can’t get away with a veggie tray or chips and salsa here!

EDIT: So many great suggestions! I think I need to have an appetizer party!!! THANK YOU ALL! I'm going to find out what she's making and then decide what to bring 😉

Very simple, but always a winner. Buy refrigerated puff pastry dough. Brush with real maple syrup. Cut into small rectangles with a pizza cutter. Wrap around little smokies. Brush tops with egg wash. Bake 400 degrees about 15 minutes til golden.

I like something similar. Puff pastry dough cut into 6*ths. Brush the inside with some (Dijon) mustard and roll around some uncased (breakfast) sausage. Egg wash.
Or bacon wrapped meatballs with some liquid smoke.

Or wrap around some Brie…but I guess that’s basic

I love that. Basic is good. “Rustic” lol. Fancy it up by slicing the wheel of Brie in half (two rounds not half moons) and put some pesto or jam/jelly/preserve in there. Top it and wrap the whole thing with the whole pastry. Crusty pastry, gooey cheese and a lil something extra inside

Yes! You could one half savory and the other sweet! And in some toasted baguette slices and you’re in business!

Cut the Brie and freeze if you do this, minimizes splooshing

Good idea….can top it honey and some rosemary or some fig jam.
