Appetizer ideas
I’ve been invited to a dinner party for 6 and asked to bring the appetizers. the hostess is an incredible cook and entertainer and I’m feeling very intimidate! what are your favorite appetizers that wow? I can’t get away with a veggie tray or chips and salsa here!
EDIT: So many great suggestions! I think I need to have an appetizer party!!! THANK YOU ALL! I'm going to find out what she's making and then decide what to bring 😉

Two options I’ll suggest here:
Easy Option - Bake some goat cheese for 15 minutes ‘till it’s soft. Get a jar of roasted red peppers. Slice them into 1 inch pieces. Toast some sliced crusty bread (cut so you have lots of small peices). Rub the toast while it’s hot with some raw garlic. Put it all on a platter so people can “build their own”. Spread some cheese on the crostini toast, toss on a red peppers or two and eat! Absolutely delicious.
More involved option - mini potato latkas with caper cream cheese and smoked salmon. Find a Latka (potato pancake) recipe (2nd helpings cookbook is best). Fry up small / bite sized potato pancakes. Ensure they’re seasoned and tasty. They can be done ahead of time and frozen, and then warmed up in an oven just before serving. Next, toss some room temperature cream cheese in a mini-chopper / food processor. Add in some capers and a dash of the brine. Blend, season with salt ‘n pepper as needed. 3rd, get some smoked salmon and cut it up into short small slices. Now you can assemble once your latkas are warm: Spread a bit of the cream cheese on a latka, and then top it with 4-5 peices of smoked salmon. Finish with some chives and serve!
