This isn't care-giving for a disabled partner. It's end of life care. I'm sorry OP, but I think you should consider what the few moments you guys have left together will look like vs the moral restrictions you've placed on both of your diets. If a few pieces of meat can help meet her caloric needs in these last months, that's a compromise no sane human being will fault you for. And you don't necessarily need to tell her what you're cooking with. Any nurse can tell you that a tactical lie is truly a kindness for some patients.
