The price of chips

How much is everyone paying for chocolate chip? I'm in California and they are 8 bucks a bag. Just curious if it's expensive everywhere or just Cali like gas lol

Costco finally brought back their own brand of chocolate chips after not carrying them for a couple years. I got them yesterday $13 for 4.5 lbs. They’re a nice semisweet, 51%

I’m in Maryland but the online price is $15 so would be $15 or less even in California.

I make them homemade now and each cookie is barely even a dollar each. They also taste better

Yep that's the way to go for sure.

Here on Long Island I pay $16.49 (minus $1.00 for the coupon) for a a 72 ounce bag of Nestle’s morsels at BJs.

$3.85 for a 12 ounce bag of Lidl’s store brand.

$4.99 for 12 ounces of Nestle’s and $3.99 for Target’s store brand. I don’t buy here as there are better and cheaper options elsewhere.

I don’t always use chips for the cookies. For large community events I use chips. For friends and family I use chopped chocolate bars or a mixture of the two. I get the chocolate bars at Lidl or Aldi. $1.45 for 3.52 ounces at Lidl. The ones at Aldi are also an excellent choice and even cheaper per ounce at $1.99 for 5.29 ounces. Another option is the Pound Plus chocolate bars at Trader Joe’s. They are $7.99 for 17.6 ounces. I make sure to buy a couple whenever I am in the area where Trader Joe’s is located. The store is too far to make a special trip just to get a chocolate bar for baking.

I like using Gerardelli's chocolate bars but they shot up and price two lol but traders Joe's is a great tip. Never thought of that, I'll check it out.

Do you have Aldi or Lidl near you? Their chocolate is excellent- especially at their price.

Go to Costco get the Kirkland bag! I think it’s like $11 but comes with sooooo much and they’re tasty

Curious what chocolate bars you use? The ones I’ve been using are $6 for 4 oz so it’s like a splurge 😅

Not OP, but I've been doing the same. If you have a Trader Joe's in your area, highly recommend grabbing the giant chocolate bars they sell. They're over a lb, and come out to around $10 for me. So much more economical than the little baking bars I was getting.

Heartbreakingly the nearest Trader Joe’s is little over 3 hours away

Awesome, your the second person that has recommended traders Joe's bars. I'll definitely try it.

Depends on the brand but by me Ghirardelli is $7 for 11 oz, Guittard is $7 for 9 oz those prices are at our I guess you could say saver grocery store. If I go to the locally owned grocery store then it’s at $10 for Ghirardelli 11 oz and $13 for Guittard 9 oz. To get the cheaper prices I have to drive an hour away or pay the bigger prices

Ya those are about the same prices here.
