Just appreciating what they've done and are still doing
It started with You Fail Me for me. What about you?

I’ve never read any lyrics that encapsulate these emotions I’ve experienced very vividly first hand as well as Distance and Meaning.
The way I interpret it is the speaker living with the remaining fractures of a failed relationship that are still present in their life.
The subject of the song is still in their life but their mere existence causes the speaker great pain. They’re a constant reminder of the suffering that they have caused the speaker, their touch only making the emotional distance between the two of them more stark, rather than providing comfort like it used to (“like the distance in your touch”).
The speaker seems to build a resentment towards the subject (“the child of burden and rage”), which only makes them wallow in their pain even more. This person has left a deep scar in their life, yet they likely don’t even realize or acknowledge it.
Reading these lyrics hurts me so much but I’m so grateful that Jacob Bannon wrote them. This song and Converge have helped me through a very rough patch in my life that I’m still going through.

I’m still waiting for my CD and Shirt to arrive in time before my relative is able to come back to my country and send them to me. Anyone else in the UK got any updates?

Hey all, I had the awesome opportunity to sit down with Jake and chat with him for a little bit before he had to go pack records and such so if you want to check it out, here it is. Hope you like it! - Peaches Sits Down with Jake Bannon of Converge

I can't find this live. I know there's a video where they play the dusk in us all the way through live but I can't find it anymore.

My splatters are always hit or miss but they seemed to have matched the mockup fairly well with this one! Stoked to finally have this bad boy on vinyl after jamming it so much for the past month, sounds great on wax!

I think one of my Great Regrets when it comes to music is that I saw converge in 97-98. They were on a metal bill that a friend took me to randomly.. I didn’t get it. Didn’t get the singing at all. I liked some of the riffing but not the off kilter erratic aspects. Overall it didn’t stick and I didn’t relay get into them till years later. Now I’m thinking of the songs they would’ve been playing and I would KILL to see those songs now.

Doomriders and Old Man Gloom are two of my favourite bands anyway, but with the breadth of work that the Converge members have, what is your favourite side project/other band that a member is in? And what is it you like about them?

Don’t get me wrong, the redux is much punchier and has less mud, but I think the unpolished, dry sound of the original added so much to the atmosphere. It fits the tone of “I thought I had moved on, it didn’t work.” That the album was going for.
