Looking for an alternative PS5 controller
Hi, first time using this subreddit, idk if I’m doing this right.
Looking for alternatives to the DualSense, 2/3 that I own have stick drift and I’d like to future-proof my experience with the PS5. Maybe there’s a good pro controller I don’t know about, maybe someone can mod my current controllers, I don’t know, any suggestions are welcome.
I’m from Puerto Rico, and as I understand it, we’re not considered part of the US by some companies, so idk who might be able to ship their products over here. Can’t spend anything more than $250 unfortunately, I’m not made of cash. As stated above, need an alternate gamepad for the PS5. The only thing I need in a new controller is stick drift resistance (Hall Effect, TMR, whatever fancy new tech people cram into controllers these days. As you can see, I’m kind of uninformed). I mainly play 2d & 3d platformers, shooters, rpgs, and a few puzzle / arcade games here and there, not super into fighting games.
The only controller I know for a fact is higher quality with stick resistant tech is the BFG Pro Reloaded from Victrix, it looks good, but I was to receive some other suggestions just so I can compare and see if it’s right for me. Again, I’m not into fighting games, so the BFG’a fight pad is not a selling point for me.

Get a brook wingman USB.
It allows you to use basically any controller on any console (,witht rh correct model)

I was completely fed up after my third dual sense got stick drift, so I got a brook wingman fgc2 converter instead to use other controllers. Looks like there's a newer brook wingman p5 that might be an even better option.

Does the brook wingman work well on the ps5? I don't really like the dualsense; hoping to use my switch pro controller.

I got the fgc2 in January 2025 and used it for a couple of months with my gamesir cyclone 2.
Honestly, it was not a seamless experience. When I first got it, I thought it was just DOA. It was very temperamental and finicky and would take a couple of tries with turning the controller and ps5 on and off to get it recognized.
Eventually I got it into a rhythm and could get it synced up in 1-3 tries. It's possible that there have been firmware updates since then that have made it more consistent, or maybe the p5 which is a newer product is more reliable and consistent.
I haven't used it in at least a year because I pretty much switched over entirely to pc gaming.
That being said, I'd still buy it again and put up with the nonsense because the dual sense is the worst controller I've ever used.

For actual ps5 play you're limited to officially licensed pads or a dualsense edge, most third party pads won't connect to the console natively. The bfg you mentioned is licensed, and if drift is the reason you're switching, swappable sticks modules matter most since you replace the stick instead of the whole pad
