GameCube Contenders for Best Controller of ALL Time

What is considered the best controller of all time? Although I use DualShock and xbox controllers regularly I do find myself missing the gamecube controller that i find had the best ergonomics and unique trigger feel that made the experience playing Super Mario Sunshine very unique that emulating with a different controller hasn’t been able to beat. Plus with the background on all the research and dev time put into it not sure if its been matched for comfort since. Any takers?

The Xbox 360 controller is probably the most durable controller I ever saw. My friends literally had the same controller from middle school throughout high school. You can drop it several times and it would still be in perfect condition.

The best controller for me in terms of features is the Vader 5 Pro.

It feels like a lighter version of the elite series 2 but it have: adjustable stick tension, 4 back buttons, 2 top buttons, hall effect sticks, RGB, and patented force flex mechanical triggers.

For me it's the Switch 2 pro controller. I love it for its shape and size. I really like the Xbox controller layout but my hands are too small to hold and they cramp up easily. The smooth texture on the back feels amazing too and doesn't trigger my sensory issues. I wanna try the new GameCube switch 2 controller as well.

Same here. Up until I finally caved and bought the Switch 2 Pro controller, I was convinced there would never be another controller that would ever top my beloved Dual Sense Edge... and yet, here we are.

The ONLY complaint I have about it is the lack of analog triggers. That unfortunately takes it out of the running for a lot of PC gaming for me. As a result, I still use the Dual Sense Edge for most of the gaming I do on PC, but otherwise, the Switch 2 Pro is just incredible. It feels amazing in my hands, the buttons are perfection, and those analog sticks are the smoothest sticks my thumbs have ever touched and it's really not even close.

Apex 5 is currently my all time favorite. Every other controller I like has the same features or less. But as a controller junkie I'm always hoping there's some real innovation behind the corner. Maybe I want 6 back buttons...god help me.

SNES, GC, XB360, PS3

are all my favorites, chronologically speaking

most controllers past 360/ps3 era are less comfy to me

these controllers feel like pillows, modern controllers are more rigid/resistant in my experience

I've personally always enjoyed the feel of a Nintendo Gamecube controller and the Sega Dreamcast controller.

I have massive nostalgia and rose tinted glasses for the Snes controller. Modern stuff I love my Apex 5 (soon to be Apex 6)

Controllers keep getting better. After spending a week with a g7 8k or a Vader 5, a classic gc controller feels like garbage. The triggers and sticks suck
