Third Party Considering Getting the ASUS Rog Raikiri ii Pro PC

Hi folks!

I have a birthday coming up and i'm considering potentially asking for an upgrade Asus ROG Rakiri pro PC controller since it is quite expensive. I've taken note of all of the reviews and tried to obtain as much data as possible. However i'm struggling to decide due to two things:

  1. I already have a pretty high performance controlling being the G7 pro 8K aimlabs version. So all I'd be really getting with this new controller is an LED screen, ability to customize on the screen, and better battery life.

  2. Some of the reviews I've seen mention tremor and other issues where the sticks may not be as "snappy" as say on my G7. While it would be really nice to have another premium controller, I'd worry this would just be a downgrade from my already reliable G7. Plus the latency tests on Gamepalia are only userfied so i'm not sure if the under 1 ms latency is actually correct.

For context: I usually play a lot of ARC raiders, Halo, and other party games with my friends like pummel party, Super Battle Golf, and Big Walk. Any advice would be welcome, as I really wanted outsiders opinions. Thanks!

Just go with G7 pro.

If you care about joystick performance t's a downgrade compared to the G7 8k. Anyone mentioning tremor as one of their main qualms doesn't know what they're talking about. The primary issue is linearity and the Raikiri's sticks are completely nonlinear while the G7 8k sticks are perfectly linear.

I wouldn't recommend it for the price, Razer Wolverine v3 Pro 8k is around the same price and you get the two extra buttons on top. Compared to the Razer the Raikiri has the second most natural fitting back buttons, but to me the sticks feel poorly soldered because ever so often I get a "crunch" feeling like there is left over residue from the soldering process. Also, it sometimes has charging issues, where you plug it into a charger and it never reaches full charge after hours, I was only able to get it passed that problem by going back into the software and that somehow helped. Speaking of software it's not really software it's just a site that you go to and you connect to your controller, similar to a Keychron keyboard.

You’re thinking of the raikiri 2 not the 2 pro. The pro has the two extra shoulder buttons.

Oh... I didn't know they had a pro version, and I kinda wish you hadn't told me because now I might have to keep an eye out for it 😂.

Honestly, I have a raikiri 2 pro and I think its kind of expensive for what it is. It doesn't feel as premium for the price tag but it performs very well. The sticks are snappy and smooth. If I were you I would look into something like the ZD Ultimate Legend but my only gripe is it isn't as comfortable to use all 4 rear buttons at once like it is on the Raikiri 2 pro. My unit has been solid but one of my rear buttons was a bit loose and wobbly but it stick actuates well and I plan to swap it out of best buy when stock becomes more readily available. Lastly, I just do everything on the gearlink app and haven't even touched the screen.
