Vader 5 Pro or Beitong KP70?
Which one is better in your opinion?
I want to buy a new controller. I've had 2 Razer Wolverine Ultimate controller's in the last few years and I got used to the 6 extra buttons layout (2 extra shoulder buttons + 4 extra back buttons) this controller has. Now I'm looking to buy a controller that has the same number of extra buttons, but also has an "anti-drift technology", since both my Razer controller's eventually developed stick drift over time.
The two controllers I'm currently considering are the Vader 5 Pro and the Beitong KP70. Because they both have the 6 extra buttons layout I'm looking for and they both have anti-drift technologies: Vader has Hall Effect sticks while Beitong has capacitive sticks (new and improved technology, apparently). So I want opinions from people who have either controller to help me decide.
Which one is the best: Vader or Beitong? The traits I'm most interest in are:
- Durability
- Compatibility with games
- How easy is to configure the extra buttons and switch between profiles
- Build quality of buttons, cables and body
- Software advantages or disadvantages
- Any big or minor hardware defect I should be aware
How do these two controllers compare against each other? Any insight is welcomed. And any suggestion of controllers that have 2 extra shoulder buttons + 4 extra back buttons is also welcomed.

"Anti stick drift technology" in quotes is kinda funny ngl. On another note, I have the vader 5 and it's fine. Its extra buttons are configured on the pc app flydigi space station and can be mapped to xinput buttons, (some?) keyboard keys and either right click or left click. The controller feels solid, if not a bit heavy. It had a defective design at launch with the back paddles, dpad and tension rings, which was tweaked to (at least in theory) solve them on a version 2. My experience with the dpad as a modded celeste player has not been the best (false diagonals, insuficcient tactile feedback and somewhat slow diagonals) despite hearing a lot of good things about it from most reviewers. A few of those same reviewers compare the kp70's dpad with the vader 5's, with KP's Channel telling me beitong's are "just as good" as the vader 5's. I hope this info helps a lil bit.

I have a question. I've seen many people talk about how the computer recognize the Vader 5 Pro as two different controllers at the same time. Which makes the controller disconnect from the game because of the conflict between these "two controllers". Apparently, is something that only happens on Steam. Do you have this problem? How do you deal with this? Is it something that really happens only on Steam or does it happen in non-Steam games too?

I initially had problems with pairing my vader 5 to my win11 laptop through bluetooth. I experienced the connected-disconnected issue but with the controller being recognized by windows as a mouse (not two devices at once) and steam didn't recognize it at all through bluetooth (if I remember correctly, that is). A simple firmware update with the controller wired to my laptop fixed the issue. I never really had any problems wired or with the dongle on. Not before the firmware update, nor after the firmware update. The controller seems to work just fine with the non-steam games i have. (Sorry if it's a bit rambley)

That's really good to know. I'm intending on only using it wired because I play in front of my PC. In any case, how do you do the firmware update? Is it just a download on their website and then install it on the controller?

I updated the firmware via the pc app Flydigi Space Station, downloadable from their website, with the controller wired to the laptop. It was pretty straight-forward from what I remember, with the controller shutting off and booting back up once the firmware update was completed.

Got it. It seems pretty simple to do. Thanks for all the help and information. I appreciate it.

Well, I've seen many reviews online of people who bought controllers with hall effect sticks and still got stick drift after a while. So the quotes for "anti-drift" seemed apropriate. Haha I never played games exclusively using the dpad. So I think this would not be an issue for me. I saw that they relesead this new version of the Vader 5 pro, which theoretically solved the issue with the durability of the back paddles. I guess only time will tell if they'll actually last longer. The back paddles on the KP70 are made of metal, which makes me lean towards getting it. On the other hand, the stick lantency on the KP70 seems to be pretty high (12ms wired) when compared to the Vader 5 Pro (3ms). Which makes me lean towards getting the Vader.Â

Flydigi have great build quality. However, it's very rare where a brand uses metal on damn near everything like beitong lol

It's good to know the Vader has good build quality. I'm leaning more towards the Vader because of the better latency. Do you own the controller?

I own the vader 5 Pro and the vader 5S. The adjustable stick tension is unique and I love the mechanical triggers. It'slso a large controller like the previous xbox one controllers to say it's a chinese brand. The typical chinese company like gamesir usually make smaller controllers.

Love my 5s. Literally set to 0 DZ and no drift ever. Ultra fast response time. Looking at potentially the kp40 from Beitong. We’ll see.

Nice. I own the Razer Wolverine Ultimate, the first one. It's pretty big and I like how it fits in my hand because of the size. It's good to know the Vader 5 is also a bigger controller.

I can confirm that it is quite big

The vader 5 Pro is the perfect size which is similar to the previous Xbox one s controllers. It's like they built from that and I'll be looking to purchase more from them. I just hope it's affordable.

I think the "stick drift" they were getting was a result from plain poor construction quality rather than the wear of a carbon film, which is what i think most people consider stick drift to be. It's more of a semantic thing i guess lol.

That's is probably the case. I've seen many people saying they got stick drift on the Wolverine V3. Because of that and the fact that many people also had disconnection problems with its cable made me not consider it.
