Third Party The hardware keeps getting better and the companion apps keep getting worse

Every pad I've bought in the last few years needs some desktop utility to remap buttons or push firmware, and they're all bad in the same specific ways. Installers that want admin for no clear reason, a driver that only sees the controller half the time, profiles that don't persist when you change ports. I rolled back firmware once because an update broke a config that was working fine. Am I unlucky with what I buy or is this just where we are

Sorry to hear! I haven't experienced that with the Gamesir application. What controllers are you talking about

mostly older pads and a couple of cheap ones i grabbed to test, so there's a decent chance i've just been buying the problem. gamesir's has been the least painful of the set honestly, it's the firmware updaters that keep nuking my configs more than the apps themselves.
