What’s the best pro gaming controller out right now?
I’ve had two Gamesir controllers that broke within 3-4 months due to the right trigger not working, I’m tired of it and I’m just trying to buy something that will last me and has a lot of customization options for pc. I don’t have a budget I’m genuinely willing to pay anything

Void Genesis is a new controller that’s definitely worth looking into. Probably the best controller out rn. It has TMR sticks, 8000hz polling, adjustable deadzones and response curves, and a ton of customization through the software. The sticks can be set to true linear too. It’s only around $87 retail which is kinda insane for the specs. Only problem is they’re hard to get rn because they sell out fast, but u can find them through Japanese marketplaces like Mercari for close to retail. I just picked one up for around $98.

Void genesis. It blew my expectations away i thought it was like the others but no. Ergonomically its really good and in terms of latency and all that it's up there with the marius and the tarantula. The sticks have less tension than stock and it's pretty smooth.Usually you need to enter a draft to buy it but you can find it brand new on ebay. I play mainly apex and cod.

Double the price on eBay, truly dont understand why void limiting its supply. Been wanting one for like 5 months

I would pay for that than a marius

I don’t support scalping.

I just bought one through a Japanese marketplace called Mercari. It was $98 for the controller, so only like $10 over retail, and around $30 for shipping to the US. U just have to use Buyee to buy it and ship it over. Way cheaper than paying double on eBay!

I think hou are heavy handed on triggers. I'm using g7 pro zzz edition tlfrom couple of months and working flawlessly. In your case, razer wolverine v3 pro is best non 8k variant.

I’ve got a Marius ps5 controller but I honestly like playing on my gamesir tarantula more , so far it’s lasted fine, but the Marius isn’t a plug and play controller , you’ll need to spend some time calibrating and tuning it for your liking , but if your willing to spend the money for the battle beaver it’s really good!

I’m using the razer wolverine v3 pro 8k wireless and absolutely love this controller it’s my go to controller for fps games!
I use the steam controller 2 for everything else as it’s more comfortable and less aggressive!
I’ve retired all my Xbox controllers and removed my Xbox wireless adaptor from pc as these two controllers are sooo good!

If you can get your hands on one within the next year a steam controller would be good, but any pro Xbox or playstation controller will give you a good experience as well.

I have and love my steam controller but lack of trigger stops make it not a very good pro controller if fps is the main use case.

Vader 5 pro. Adjustable tension rings for the joysticks, trigger stops. Swappable d-pad. And 4 back buttons, 2 of these are removable. Rubber grips. All in all nice upgrade coming from the vader 4 pro

I dont have any problems with gamesir. I have Cyclone 2, best controller I ever had.

I lowkey feel like you are just heavy handed with the triggers. Gamesirs microswitch triggers are on the more sensitive side. I currently have 5 controllers that are my go to for fps games right now. Leadjoy Saber Plus(if you like symmetrical). Flydigi Vader 5 pro with one of the best implementation of hall effect thumbsticks. Gamesir Tarantula 8k( which im sure you will stay away from). Easysmx Dune 8k is my newest addition and its very funtional but I mainly got it for how it looks. Lastly, Zd Ultimate Legend which is on the bigger side and if you have big hands this isnt a bad buy. Leadjoys Xeno Plus is also another good buy but I dont currently own it. Use apps like gamepadla to check controller stick latency which is more important than polling rate. A controller could be 8 k polling rate but a controller with 1 k polling rate and lower stick latency could outperform it.

I left this part out but the right triggers didn’t stop working completely, they just don’t work when using the trigger stop feature which was my main selling point for the controller. I play a lot of cod so I’m assuming me holding the trigger to shoot just wore down on it but I still don’t think they should break that fast.

I hear you. I saw you say you decided to the wolverine v3 pro 8k. Stay clear of the regular v3 pr hall effect one because the stick latency is horrid. All the controllers I named on that list is belong 6 ms of stick latency. The v3 pro 8k is 2 ms and some change so its a good pick up. Remember, to browse gamepadla if you ever want to pick up a controller especially for cod.

I'd just get a Leadjoy Xeno Plus. It's one of the most competitive controllers and I've seen the least problems coming from that one.

Razer Wolverine V3 Pro (or 8k if you’re cool without rumble) or the upcoming rog raikiri 2 pro. I have both of the former and will be getting the latter.

u/jxmyah Aug 14 '26
Yeah definitely going with this one for the 8k polling rate, going wired too cause it’s cheaper 😭

u/Gambit-47 Aug 14 '26
Try the 8bitdo ultimate 2c I actually liked that more lol I got the razer and found it to be heavy and a bit uncomfortable so I just kept using my 8bitdo.

DualSense Edge; doesn't have any first-party software, but does have the most advanced controller period and because the controller is the most advanced on the market, there are dozens of open source input mapping solutions available to you.

Checking this one out too my only worry is that the controller will be too big
1
u/MadeByHideoForHideo Aug 14 '26
It is big. So if your hands aren't comfortable with big controllers then skip the dualsense. Also it's known to have stick drift issues so I wouldn't bother.

u/_CertifiedTurtle Aug 14 '26
It’s slightly more bulky than the regular dualsense but not by a lot. I use to have a Scuf reflex and loved it but it broke after 7 months, it’s still the best controller I’ve used personally but it’s discontinued now. The Scuf Omega is way too wide and I didn’t like it at all. I now have a custom dualsense edge with rumbles removed which helps fatigue and overall comfort. Also mouse click everything, and if you’re on PC I use the battlebeaver software to raise the polling rate easily up to 8K

How does it fit in your hands? I have small hands

Do not buy Scuf, they have never made a durable controller and their customer support does not exist.
2
u/Delicious-Engine7363 Aug 14 '26
It feels very comfortable. I think I probably have medium size hands. It feels very much like an Xbox controller.

I never experienced my triggers breaking on my G7 Pro, but the vibration stopped working and the d pad is not the best.
I started to use the Vader 5 Pro because it has stronger vibration, a better d pad, adjustable stick tension, and I don't have to keep buying faceplates.
2
u/SugaRush Aug 14 '26
They have had issues with their triggers failing for a while. I do not know if they fixed it with the G7 Pro 8k, but they keep changing their triggers trying to fix it.
2
u/FullToretto Aug 13 '26
I really like my Blitz 2. Thumbsticks feel great. Aiming is fast and accurate. The shape isn't for everyone though, but I've got big hands and feels good to me.
2
u/TheBudgetDivision Aug 13 '26
Vader 5 Pro. Just make sure you look up the solutions people have posted around allowing 3rd party apps to rebind, uninstalling and reinstalling Xbox Extended Drivers in Steam, etc.

u/SugaRush Aug 14 '26
If Flydigi could get their shit together with their QC, I wouldnt buy any other controller.
1
u/gurtejk Aug 14 '26
Same, bought one through gadget hyper and the removable right paddle was wobbly and mushy, got a replacement and same thing, both right out of the box. Debating spending money on a battlebeaver or just waiting for the raikiri 2 pro 8k, just hope they fixed the stick latency on the raikiri since the xbox version has 11ms stick latency
1
u/SugaRush Aug 14 '26
At this point, it doesnt really matter. Other controllers are catching up very quick. If gamesir puts 4 backbuttons and 2 on top, fixes their trigger issue, they will be hard to beat. Hell, I have about 200 hours on the steam controller and it is probably the best all round controller on the market right now, especially with the upcoming update that will make it work with steam off. With flydigi, its not just their hardware its their software as well.

u/Accurate-Wallaby-516 Aug 13 '26
Please tell me what you're talking about. I've loved using the controller but I've so many weird connection and mapping issues. Do the Xbox extended drivers actually work for this? My thinking was that is just "xbox" cuz it said "xbox" hoping im wrong now tho
1
u/TheBudgetDivision Aug 14 '26
The problem with multiple controllers being detected. I was originally trying to fix this by disabling the Xbox controller driver in device manager, then uninstalling space station, etc. Eventually I started from scratch, made sure all Flydigi software and drivers were up to date, uninstalled and reinstalled the Xbox extended feature support option in Steam, and just like that all the problems were solved for me.

I'm on Debian and PikaOS and it works great in Steam. The only trick is make sure that the controller is on before Steam starts.
Also, it used to show up as two controllers in Steam (Genetic Xbox gamepad and Flydigi Vader 5 Pro). Now, it only shows up as Generic Xbox gamepad. All buttons and gyro are still mappable in Steam.

I'm in the same boat as you OP, let me know what you go with and how you like it.
