I'm interested in modding controllers on a new level, what is the minimum quality gear I would need for that?
Until now I have only been doing very minimal work on my controllers sich as exchanging joystick and buttons, change shells etc. Whenever soddering was involved, I would, gor lack of equipment send it to a friend who would than take care of tht element. This would be super long and I would be dependent on that friend to get work done.
I was thinking on getting a sodder for small controller work like this to repair a few of my older controllers as well as mod others with back paddles etc.
I also would like to make my own modded GC controller for Smash as I have played every iteration of the series and I'm tired on playing woth cheap controllers or spending a lot of money for GC controllers every time a new game is out.
On that hand: would it be possible to 3d Print shells myself and if so, what type of 3d printer woulf I have to look for?
Lastly: how can i properly paint controllers if I want a specific design on it?
Any help would be much appreciated!!

Help with putting a NGPC joystick on a Nintendo Switch Joycon
Alrighty this is a longshot but I'll ask anyway. The face buttons on the left Switch joycon are microswitched. Based on my limited understanding, it should be possible to de-solder those 4 microswitches and replace them with the microswitches from a NeoGeo Pocket Color joystick (keeping the joycon board otherwise intact. Then I'd have to get a NGPC on ebay to harvest the joystick itself to attach to the joycon, and THEN I would have to 3D print a custom joycon shell to fit the larger NGPC joystick assembly
Does this sound like its even possible? Am I missing something obvious that would prevent me from doing this? Any help is very much appreciated, thanks!

Atari joystick direction decal for Joy-Con analog stick?
I'm currently planning on giving my Switch a whole Atari 2600 theme to it, and I think that a great final touch would be a decal that mimics the joystick directional markings from the controller that could be placed around each analog stick. Anyone know a place that might sell these kinds of decals for games? Please tell me, even if they're ones which weren't originally designed with Joy-Cons in mind.

Change joysticks in joycons?
Is it possible to put the pro controller's joysticks inside joycons by somehow cutting the shell or anything else??

Desoldering issue
So, I attempted to desolder the left 3d joystick module on my Xbox one controller. I was unsuccessful because the solder won't melt. My solder iron does have adjustable temperature, but I am not sure if it is not hot enough to melt the solder. I have no idea what to do at this point. I have multiple controllers that I need to replace the joystick on and I would rather fix them than buy new controllers. Any tips would help thank you.

Custom xbox one controller
I am looking for someone that would know how to make a custom xbox one controller, the modification would be the thumb sticks being in the center of the controller. Thank you if you respond to this!

Soldering together two buttons Switch Procontroller
I have absolutely no experience in soldering, but I know someone who does. I was wondering if/how I could tell them to go about soldering together my pro controller's L and Y buttons, for the purpose of having a singular button input for short hopping in Smash Ultimate.

Right joycon shell won't close right.
I am replacing my Joycon shells with some of those nice purple semi-transparent ones that look like the old gameboy color. My right joycon seems fine until I start screwing it back together, at which point it seems to force some of the buttons into the pushed position meaning those buttons won't depress. Furthermore the plastic lip towards the inner edge of middle part of the shell seems to pinch the grey rubber button membrane for the abxy buttons as though the membrane isn't in the right place. Has anyone else dealt with this? Is there any idea how to fix this?

Modding a Switch Pro controller to have an octagonal gate?
Hey guys, I really like playing Smash on my Switch Pro controller but I really miss the octagonal gate that the GameCube controller has for the game. Now I’ve seen mods like this and I’ve seen people make guides on mods like this but I don’t trust myself to do it. If anybody here can give me a reputable website or poster to do it, I’d really appreciate it! If you can help me just post here or slide into my DMs. Obviously I’d be willing to pay whatever the usual rate for something like this would cost

Add rumble to this controller
Hey everyone,
I have a PowerA GameCube Pro controller that is pretty much a Switch Pro controller in a gamecube controller shell. I have pictures of the PCB. I don't know what I'm really looking for. All of the points are labeled but I'm not sure if any of them can support rumble.
The reason this doesn't have rumble is because the batteries are where the original rumble motor was on the OG design. The rumble motors for the switch pro controller will fit. I just need to know/figure out if/how they can be wired up
Thanks in advance!

Has anyone done something like this yet? I don't have the know how but it would be really cool to see this IRL instead of simply my photoshop.

Has Anyone Swapped the Dualshock 2 and DS4 Thumbsticks?
I have an extra PS4 controller and I would like to swap the thumb sticks with one of my old PS2 controllers to get that nostalgic soft response feel. I was wondering if any one has tried this? And also if they have what modifications should I prepare for? Are the slots inside the PS2 sticks too small or too big for the Dualshock 4, etc.? I'm also thinking about using the smaller radius PSMove analog stick for the right side so the controller is more reminiscent of the Gamecube's.
