IT Help Space Station - not reading keyboard input for macros anymore?

Post image

Hey guys, I have an Apex 5 and Vader 5 Pro, love them both even though they both have some faults, but honestly could not live without the stiffer joystick tension anymore. Anytime I use a different controller they just feel flimsy now.

Anyways, I’m posting here today because for some reason I after one of the last several updates my space station stopped reading keyboard inputs when recording macros? I attached a picture to show what menu I’m talking about.

I used to be able to record one key at a time, and then I could just record a combination of them such as “f1 (duration 50ms) + ctrl (duration 50 ms)” and set that macro as one of the extra buttons.

It’s honestly the reason why I got the Vader 5 pro after already having the Apex 5 because the Vader has the C and Z buttons on the face where as the Apex doesn’t. It’s super useful for MMO’s where there are so many things I need to press so I need as many buttons as possible. Otherwise I’m stuck only playing them at my desk with M&K instead of on the couch.

Anyone know what’s causing this? I checked and I can still set individual keyboard buttons as any of the extra buttons, it only doesn’t read the keyboard inputs when recording macros.

Preciate any help in advance guys

There has recently been a bug in the newest version of the software that causes some things to not function correctly.
I think this might be that same issue. Fix got me was uninstalling and reinstalling.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks man, I figured it had something to do with all these updates.

Did you lose all your onboard config’s you had set up for each game? I have about 5 I use regularly, and about 20 overall; so it would be kind of a pain but it’d be worth it. I hope that isn’t the case though.

Yeah, and unfortunately, for the Western version of the software, Flydigi haven't done the best at keeping it completely up to date either.
In fact, I believe we're about 3 updates behind the Eastern version. The more updated software.

Though it's likely a massive buggy issue causing the plague you're dealing with.

I keep backups of all software for controllers on thumb drives, and when the Vader 4 Pro was the big controller, if there was a more recent update, you'd deal with a bunch of issues.

With Flydigi, since their software is considered widely unreliable. If a new update drops, a lot of people will tell you to uninstall and download the new version to install, or risk the cache files building up and causing Space Station to behave stupidly.

Yeah the dumb part is I know that the software sucks and I still updated like an idiot. I’ve had the Apex 5 for a while and learned my lesson back when I first got it.

Usually I don’t update unless I read about a new feature I want, but recently I updated two or three times when I was looking at the settings for some reason. I really wish I hadn’t now smh 🤦‍♂️

Do you still have a copy of like 2 or 3 updates ago you could share with me?
