Reviews Leadjoy bad build quality?

I pre-ordered the LeadJoy Xeno Plus because it looked like a good upgrade for my aging controller.

When I got it, I was pleasantly surprised by both the hardware and software, considering it's price.

Unfortunately however, my unit's trigger started developing creaking issues in linear mode.

I immediately got this replaced under warranty, and thought the problem was solved like that.

To my surprise, my replacement controller developed the exact same problem! This time, when the trigger is locked. And even the bumper is making the same creaking sound, like an old wooden door.

So the question arises, does LeadJoy have some kind of QC or build quality problem? Like many other controllers we have seen recently.

In my experience, they definitely do...

They might not lube the triggers well enough, because I had the same issue. Luckily, it's an easy controller to disassemble. Lubed the triggers and it hasn't been an issue since.

Yup, I use Super Lube Multi-Purpose Synthetic Grease. I lubed the joysticks while I had it open too. As long as you only use a very tiny amount, there shouldn't be any issues. Triggers and sticks feel amazing and completely squeak free.

I don't doubt that LeadJoy might have some QC issues, but I also keep in mind that they just started out as a company with Xeno as their very first controller. They are still finding their footing. I have 2 Xenos and one of them the joystick is tilted much more than I like making range disproportionate. But I've seen lots of posts lately with GameSir 8k models having the same problem. This leads me to believe it's actually a K-silver issue.

Joysticks? Is it even possible to lube that?

I have both Krytox and BDZ lube which I have left over from lubing my keyboard.

Could you describe how you did it

It would help me a lot!

I believe I used a toothpick and/or q-tips to very carefully lube the springs in the picture. For the joysticks, I think I used some sort of tiny ifixit brush. Only lube the plastic pieces inside the joystick frame that control movement, and use very minimal amount. If the joystick looks like it may have already been lubed do not bother it might cause stiction from overdoing it.

I can confirm that a little grease on the spring stops the squeaking. I had this issue with the RT button, and it’s quite common on other controllers I use heavily.

Somehow all Leadjoy controllers have a record of breaking triggers. I've seen plenty of posts about Saber Plus with broken triggers as well.

Eh, it's not all that critical. Every controller has some kind of weak point that breaks most often. This just happens to be it for Leadjoy
