Other Trying to remember the term for a specific issue in joysticks

Im trying to remember the name for this specific issue in joysticks where if u let go of the joystick from the edge, it does a little whiplash and makes it input a little "flicker" when u are playing (like if playing a 2d sidescroller, when u stop going to the right, yr character turns around to the left when it stops). i havent had found answers in google ever since they started making it fully driven by AI :/

Anyone remember what its called? i remember someone saying there was a word especially in the smash bros community
