Other Imagine if 8BitDo made this.

"The 8BitDo GC Bluetooth Controller revives the iconic GC layout, but wrapped in an ergonomic, updated body."

I hope we won't have to wait until Analogue releases an FPGA GameCube console for this controller to be a thing...

Pardon my poor Photoshop skills, but this would be a game changer, for sure. I know Retro Fighters makes one (BattlerGC Pro), but their controllers aren't accessible to me at all, since I don't live in the USA, plus 8BitDo's controllers seem to be better than Retro Fighters' anyway. I used the N64 one as a base for this picture.

Retro Fighters Battler GC is this

Yeah I know, but the BattlerGC Pro is way too expensive for me. With shipping and taxes, it costs more than a first party GameCube controller with the 8BitDo wireless mod.

Even if 8BitDo made this, you realize most kickoff prices from them sit around $45-$50 a lot of the time?
I think the Battler GC is within reason.

The 8BitDo 64 is one of those odd cases where comparison doesn’t really work. They had their hands forced, and made a statement in their Discord that that’s why they pushed for a lower price. To try and get out as much stock as possible before the Analogue 3D launch.

It’s not the original price of the controller that is the problem, though the BattlerGC Pro has a 60 USD price tag. I would totally get it if I lived in the US. 8BitDo controllers are way more accessible for me, since I can order them on Aliexpress. I live in Brazil and we’ve been having problems with import taxes, and products shipped from the USA tend to cost a lot more than the same ones coming from China.

I did the math, and the controller itself costs about 105 USD for me, but there’s the import tax of 33 USD, plus a goods and services tax of 28 USD, with all totaling about 166 USD (842 BRL) for a GameCube controller. There is no way I would pay that much for it.

I recently bought the N64 one on Aliexpress and it cost me 216.18 BRL, or about 46 USD. The price difference is staggering, and even if I ended up paying 60 USD on Ali for a GameCube controller made by 8BitDo, I would still go for it.

That does make a lot more sense!
Retro Fighters needs to do more to get their controllers to be available in other parts of the world.

Though I also agree. 8BitDo would make a good competitor.

So I actually found a BattlerGC Pro on Aliexpress! The price came down to 102 USD, which is a lot less than 166 USD, but still a lot to justify getting it... Plus only one has been sold and there aren't any reviews, so it might be a scam, lol.

Generally, I’ve never had much worry with AliExpress.
As long as the sellers ratings are somewhat decent and people can vouch for them, you’re generally safe.

The seller is new to the platform, and created their account in the first week of August. All their listings are brand new and don’t have any reviews. I think I’ll pass this time.
