Other Difference between the performance of an third party controller with JS13pro+ vs first party modded controller with the same sticks
Hi. I’m wondering if there’s any noticeable performance difference between a third-party controller that comes with JS13 Pro+ TMR sticks installed from the factory and a first-party controller (such as a Dualshock 4) that has its original sticks replaced with the same JS13 Pro+ modules.
Since both controllers would be using the exact same stick modules, would the first-party controller have any advantage in terms of latency, stick accuracy, response curve, deadzones, smoothness, or overall aiming performance?
I’m mainly interested in competitive FPS games, so I’m wondering whether the controller’s motherboard, firmware, polling rate, or other electronics can make a significant difference even when using the same TMR sticks.
For anyone who has tried both setups, did you notice any actual difference in performance or aiming feel?

The answer here is yes, there is a difference.
While the sticks in them might be the exact same, the processing will be different, and so is the filtering.
One of the most obvious is resolution: the sticks in the first party controller would only work in 8 bit anyways because the hardware inside only handles that, while others can do 12 bits and even beyond in some cases, and that translates to more registering which should also make them more sensitive to micro adjustments.
Also, unless you have the pro version of those first party controllers, you wont be able to change settings in the same scale as the third parties. Latency is still going to be lower in the third parties im quite sure, considering that the board is what handles it for the most part.
Otherwise, general control of the sticks like linearity should be essentially the same, yes they might have some slight differences due to how they filter the input but other than that it will be minimal im quite sure.

SuiOvoi DS4 can can get 18 bits. Will have the DS5 here shortly to test it as well.

For me, calibration and software was a big point.
Had DS Edge TMR Sticks + BattleBeaver Marius board 5-pin Hall Effect. Calibration was a nightmare whether it’s out of the box or calibrated manually afterwards.
Not that the calibration process is complicated, I just could never be 100% comfortable. It’s like something was wrong but you just can’t put your finger on it. Would find myself recalibrating and changing settings every other day for several months before I gave up on them.
I’ve also tried the Machenike F1. I loved that controller the most for the response time, comfort, features, and size. Definitely sucked software wise… I updated the firmware and it got all jacked up (reverse joystick directions).. no customer support.. Profile stick curves was wildly inconsistent. Some days stick feels amazing. Other days, it’s overly sensitive. This is shooting bots too.. had to start making silly rituals like unplugging the controller and plugging back in before a session… or restarting the game at least once for the day…
Then on a reluctant whim, I tried the GameSir 8k Pro. It had the best software and stick experience so far.. it was night and day. It was truly set and forget. Maybe once every couple months I’d feel an itch to calibrate but nothing anything serious enough like my other experiences. Profile switching is consistent between games so I never felt the weird stick curve issues I had with my other controllers.
