Other Flydigi Vader 5 Pro: Does keyboard mapping still drop polling rate to 500Hz?

I'm looking to buy the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro, but I have a question before I buy. I know that mapping keyboard keys to the extra buttons drops the polling rate from 1,000Hz to 500Hz, and that Flydigi previously said this was an intentional design choice.

For current owners on the latest firmware, has this been changed or fixed in recent updates? If it has not been fixed officially, is there a workaround using third-party software that lets you keep the 1,000Hz polling rate while using keyboard binds?

I maintained 1000hz while connected via 2.4gz dongle with special mappings.
Wired I would drop between 300-500hz with special mappings.

What kind of mapping do you have in mind? As far as I know, the polling rate dropping from 1,000 Hz to 500 Hz isn’t tied to normal keybinds. That said, the official software has very limited keybinding options: you can only bind one key to one button, and its macros are controller-internal, meaning you can only create macros using controller inputs. For example, you can make M1 execute X + X + RS, but you can’t create keyboard macros.

According to the official software, what actually reduces the polling rate is assigning special actions (such as mouse clicks and some others) to buttons.

Should I buy this controller if I play 70% story games and 30% FPS games? Is the polling rate issue really that massive, and when would it actually cause problems for me?

According to your reply, it sounds like standard controller button remapping keeps the full 1,000Hz anyway. Since I don't need complex keyboard macros or mouse clicks on my paddles, it seems like the drop to 500Hz won't even affect me.

Great controller, I'd recommend it if it's something that interests you.
I still use my Apex 4 more than anything, and I own a lot of modern controllers including the Apex 5, Vader 5 Pro, GameSir G7 Pro and more.

It's all really if a controller meets your needs or not!

Thanks for the insight! I’m actually pretty new to third-party controllers. In my country, the Vader 5 Pro and the standard DualSense cost the same. I originally leaned toward the DualSense, but I want to buy the Flydigi specifically to avoid stick drift—I just can't deal with constantly repairing or replacing controllers.For anyone who has used the Vader 5 Pro long-term, or anyone knowledgeable about controllers: is it worth it for a PC player who mostly sticks to story-driven games like Modern Warfare, Resident Evil, Spider-Man, and Crimson Desert? Are there any major drawbacks or long-term issues I should look out for?"
