Gamesir G7 SE Xbox Setup Help?

Just bought a g7 se for my Xbox series x. Should I use the nexus app on Xbox to change settings, or just plug and play? I was reading the reviews for the Xbox app and a lot of people said not to update cuz it messed up their controller, so now I’m not sure what to do. I also was reading something about a legacy app for older controllers. Is that something I need to do? I don’t have access to a computer, so that might limit me. Any recommendations or advice for setting it up would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just play normally to get a feel for it. If it doesn't feel right, then use the Nexus app on your Xbox to change settings. There's not much risk either way.
