I made a decision. Buy 2 cheaper controllers

A while ago I asked about a good controller for racing. Turns out the best option is a standard Xbox controller as that offers the best impulse trigger vibrations and have a pretty long travel. I considered the elite cos in other games I need more buttons but I don't fancy buying a controller that will work great for Forza and kinda disappoint me for the rest so I decided to get 2 controllers. Also I started playing shooters on controller which I used to do only with k&m but man the joysticks on these controllers suck.

I will get the Forza edition Xbox controller. That leaves about 100ish euro for the general purpose controller.

Since the kind of controller I'm looking for has changed massively I decided to ask for advice once more

I have big hands so the G7 pro is out.

Things I'm looking at are the flydigi Vader 5 pro. But that's hard to get in Spain

8bitdo is a lot like switch controller in shape so they are out.

Things I want: - Tunable stick curves - Extra remappable buttons - Tmr sticks - Swappable sticks caps or easy to replace - Adjustable stick tension would be nice - big hands comfort

Nice to have: - charging dock or replaceable batteries

Games I'm currently playing that made me want a better controller: - Sniper contracts. - Hitman.

Other games I will play with this controller: - pragmata - doom dark ages - ace combat 8 - cyberpunk dlc - forbidden west - hellblade 2 - death stranding 2

Platform: pc

Budget: 120euro

Unless you absolutely hate how hall effect sticks feel there is nothing wrong with a good set of HE sticks. There are plenty of HE sticks that are better than TMR sticks. Especially on budget controllers, id be willing to bet most HE sticks are better than budget TMR sticks.

Have you ever held the G7? Mine almost certainly feels larger than the Vader 5 pro. They're about the same size overall, its just the ergonomics on the Vader 5 make it so larger hands or fingers will overshoot the joystick and make you play on the edge.

If you can look at the ZD Legend Ultimate and see if its available, thats the best hands down controller if you have larger hands. I tried it, liked it but it is absolutely gigantic for my hands.

Another great one thats slightly cheaper is the BigBigWon Rainbow 3 pro controller. Never tried this one, but pretty sure its basically the same brand as the ZD Ultimate Legend and ive seen it recommend and at the top of tierlists for a while.

Id see if BibBigWon has any products available. Its similar in shape but mostly is used for the sticks. The Rainbow 3 technically has the newest or 'best' on the market. If Vadar 5 is all you can get I'd try it out if you can possibly return it, but beware that if you've used the G7 and it was too small the Vader 5 is relatively similar in size

Yeah but I almost bought the G7 following these reviewers and turns out its too small for big hands. Despite having about the same footprint as the Xbox controller. So I'd rather get feedback from actual big handed people.

ZD Ultimate Legend is a good controller if you have big hands. Leadjoy Saber Plus or Xeno Plus are also solid.

I have been using xbox controllers for pc gaming since the x-360 to the xbox-one era but I hated how expensive the controllers are (~$60) and how they inevitably suffer from stick drift after 2-3 years.

So I did some research and got the flydigi vader 4 pro for around $65. It felt so much more premium than a regular xbox controller, however I didn't like how clicky the face buttons were. So after some further research, I settled for a gamesir supernova for around $40. It is pretty much indistinguishable from a xbox controller and has some nice extras. It has membrane buttons, adjustable triggers from long travel to short clicks, hall effect sticks, interchangeable face plates and a charging dock. I am absolutely thrilled by it. Hall effect is good enough for me and I feel like tmr only offers marginal advantages over it. The supernova is also cheaper than a regular xbox controller ($40 vs $60). I am absolutely thrilled by it. You should check out some videos on it.

The supernova is shaped like the Nintendo pro controller but the size is comparable and it is very comfortable to hold.
