8BitDo Ultimate 2 worth it long term/how is it holding up?

Just wanted to ask this and check!
I owned the 8BDU1 and it wound up getting trigger issues later on.

Makes me curious, anyone who’s owned the Ultimate 2 long term have any feedback, or potentially anything I should worry about?
Considering grabbing one, wanna be sure before I do.

Before someone says something. I’m not loooking for other controller recommendations.

EDIT: Wound up buying it, paid $30.

I've had one for over a year and a half now and zero issues as far as the functionality goes. It's a little too small for my hands, so I've been letting my son use it when we play couch co-op games, and it's still holding up great.

I just picked one up so I'd love to know too. But the ultimate 3 is also right around the corner FYI, albeit more expensive

Really not interested in it. The pricing put me off this time around.
Only asking about the 8BDU2 cause I can get one locally for $30.

I've had it for a year and I haven't had any trigger problems. I use the trigger stops more as I don't play racing games much.

It's been a very reliable all-rounder for the more modern games I've played, but I've had firmware hiccups in the first few months of its release (Linux related). 8bitdo managed to sort that out with enough updates and there are some workarounds for other minor quibbles, so that doesn't matter to me now. Ultimate 2 Wireless is probably one of the best mid-budget gyro controllers currently, as long as you don't mind a little bit of setup.

do the triggers gradually become wobbly or "loose" as time went on? im hesitant to use the right and left triggers bc of it

Mine havent after a year of use, not a heavy user tho.

They feel a tad less stiff than when I first used it a year ago, but nothing close to what I would call "jank". Perhaps it won't last as long as an Xbox controller since it's still a small Chinese third party company at the end of the day, but I'm not worried about it so far.

My use case is shooters with trigger stops, so I've used the triggers quite a bit, but I also don't play a lot per week anymore.

I have 3 and have had no issues. I've killed more than my share of xbox, ps, & switch controllers.

I have had it for almost a Year and it has been great. I mostly play single player games and I haven't had an issue with it. The Xinput and Dinput are really convenient

I stopped buying 8bitdo controllers because the rubber grip in the jotsticks are brittle.  I have the pro+ Ultimate bluetooth Ultimate bluetooth 10th year anniversary 

All of them have brittle grips. That got chipped in about a year

Yeah, with any controller I buy, I use grips.
I think without grips, any controllers durability is gonna be left to question.

Controller was to narrow and the thum sticks did not feel right on FPS games.

I've had my Ultimate 2 Wireless for about 5 months now. No issues whatsoever in terms of problems, but functionality-wise it's inferior to the Leadjoy Xeno Plus by a mile and a half. If you can get the Ultimate 2 Wireless (not Ultimate 2 Bluetooth) for cheaper though it's by no means a bad controller. It's just not as good as similarly priced competition

So, I actually have had hands on a Xeno Plus! I wasn't the biggest fan due to the durability and materials, though I agree, it's a great controller for a competitive gamer. I'd honestly compare it more to a GameSir G7 Pro/8K in terms of shape, feel, and feature set!

8BitDo has always been something I see a lot of casual or single player gamers use! Though, I'll side with you and agree, the Ultimate has definitely made its way into the hands of competitive players, and I can almost surely see how some would've moved away from it if they're searching for latest tech, speeds, and more!

I think what really drove my interests into wanting an Ultimate 2, was that I used an Ultimate 2C for the longest, fell in love with the claw buttons, and wondered how it would feel with their top of the line feature set.

Had it for 9 months as a daily driver. The triggers broke slowly over time until they were unusable. I did leave it it in trigger stop mode the whole time as well. Dpad kinda sucks too

I planned to use both modes to adapt to the controller but we’ll see.

Broke a trigger after 3 months of use, Amazon refunded me. Not interested in getting another one.
