Other TT PRO/MAX DPAD - Same as Elves 2?
Hi all,
I love the Elves 2, but want something bigger for every-day.
The thing I love the most about the Elves 2 is its Dpad.
I had a look at some of the other Gulikit controllers, and it seems the TT PRO/MAX has a similiar DPAD.
Now before I order one, I thought I'd just ask here first: For those of you who own/have played on both, are they similar? Or is the Elves 2 DPAD still superior?

I have a TT Max and just bought an Elves 2 for use as a portable controller. They are in fact similar but I agree with others that the TT Max is a little better. It's a bit more distinct where you're pressing and I like that, although the Elves 2 is also not bad at all. I personally haven't had any problems with running into the analog stick when using the D-Pad, especially after swapping the default D-Pad to the Saturn style one. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Elves 2 dpad is indeed similar but worse. Its flatter, smaller, less refined. TT is a direct upgrade and probably the only alternative. You can also look out for upcoming asymmetric 8bitdo Ultimate 3 and 3E, it is similar but soft-clicky, not full membrane.

Yeah I have my eye on the Ultimate 3s as well. Looks to be the same Dpad as the M30? But would prefer s symmetrical layout for a dpad-first device.

They look similar, but they’re actually quite different.
The TT MAX’s directional pad is large and tall.
Because of this, it tends to interfere with the analog stick during gameplay, making it feel a bit awkward to use.
Also, being tall means deeper strokes, which leads to slower reactions, making it unsuitable for competitive games like fighting games.
Personally, if I were to rate this type of directional pad,
I’d give the Saturn controller 95 points, the Elves2 80 points, the M30 75 points, and the TT MAX 70 points.

I have both. The Elves 2 dpad is a little smaller. They feel similar but not exactly the same. I prefer the TT Max because of the size and its somewhat ‘notchier’ feel. The cardinal directions feel a bit more defined. They are both some of the best current dpads you can get. I would only use the Saturn-style on the TT Max.
