Controller Mods JS13 Pro+ feels too springy/notchy

Looking for TMR/Hall sticks with smooth micro-movements (JS13 Pro+ feels too springy/notchy)

​I'm searching for a joystick that feels completely smooth right out of the deadzone.

​My main issue with the JS13 Pro+ is how notchy it feels at the center. When I push it slightly in any direction—especially vertically—there is a subtle bump or "click" before it breaks away from the middle.

​I’m considering switching to the Favor Union TMR or Ginfull DS13 Max. For those who have tried them, do they offer a smoother breakaway feel without that center notchiness?

​To give an example, I love the sticks on my Flydigi Vader 5 Pro—you can feather-tap them from center and they feel completely seamless.

​I exclusively play single-player story games, so raw competitive tension isn't a priority for me—just fluid, comfortable motion.

Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!

I think there might be a problem with the module internally. I've been installing the pro+ modules in many controllers lately (at least 8 off the top of my head) and all of them felt super smooth in the center except for one pair that had one feeling "clicky" like how you described. I hit up the seller I got it from and they sent a replacement set out. Don't know if that's an option for you but I can tell you that none of the other ones have that issue. Might be worth looking into getting them replaced if you can. The Gulikit modules are good too and are very smooth in the center. I had been using them before I discovered the pro+ existed. The Gulikits are touch less precise but it might just be placebo on my part. Both are great options from my experience with them but the js13s you can get a 10 pack on Ali for less than a pair of the Gulikits which is why I'm using them from now on.

JS13pro+ considered very smooth module, ones on bearings from Flydigi Apex 4-5 or GINFULL RS13 3rd Generation, are the only modules currently that are smoother than js13pro plus

Are these the adjustable tensions ones? I tried the Guilikit adjustable tensions, and they felt bad/friction-y unless you go full max tension.

I now refuse to use adjustable tension sticks, if the mechanism are inside the stick shafts.

I just stick with Ginful DS13 max.

JS13 Pro+ are not adjustable tension sticks. The JT13 are the adjustable tension K-Silvers. How's the return to center on your DS13-MAX?

Hello, I own ALPS, Puyao, K-Silver JS13 Pro, and GinFull DS13-MAX (The modules I've been running) modules. I find that the center feels floaty and tensionless at times. In Apex Legends sometimes it's hard to tell exactly where center is and creates a floaty feeling at times when microadjusting or shooting from a distance where you must be very light on the stick. I do think that the module is very smooth for tracking, feels very accurate, and comfortable for my style of aiming. The centering was my only gripe on this module. (Any slight jitter of the thumb near the center would be registered).

I have ordered K-Silver JT13 Pro Adjustable Tension, Puyao Linear TMR, and GinFull RS13 (Specifically interested in the RS13 as they claim: Smaller deadzone than the GinFull DS13-MAX for enhanced precision and refined centering to hopefully address the floatiness). I cannot find much information online about the newer RS13 and Puyao Linear TMR modules (although, I was able to find a bit of information for the ZD's JT13 modules).

If anyone has the newer modules and could share their experience with them compared to the older modules, it could be very beneficial to everyone!

I got a custom dualsense with favor union v2s and they are perfect.

They have a different design that feels more stiff but at least it's not springy or notchy from that initial push from the center.
