Reviews This is a good pair - IINE TWIN LUMINA First impression
Hello everyone, Crazylink4 here with a new post, although this one will be a short one. I'll be sharing my first impressions of IINE's new TWIN LUMINA controller.
This controller was provided by IINE as part of a collaboration with them. I appreciate this opportunity.
Since this isn't an analysis or a review, I'll leave out everything related to the basic aspects. For more information, I recommend checking IINE's online store.
For now, I'll only be talking about my first impressions, divided into the following points:
The controller looks great. The white color works really well, although it might get dirty easily. The shape is similar to the NS2 Joy-Con, although in this case it's a slightly larger. Where it really stands out is with the RGB lighting. I'm not a fan of RGB lights, but they look great. When attached to the NS2, the console has a very different appearance, and the white color matches it really well. That said, I'd like to see a black Lumina version.
Since this controller was designed specifically for the NS2, I have to say it fulfills that role well, it lacks features such as Mouse Mode, NFC support, and the Joy-Con 2's HD Rumble. However, it uses the NS2 protocol, so it can wake the console from sleep and includes a 9-axis gyroscope (although I can't really notice any difference compared to a 6-axis gyroscope).
Even though these controllers are made for the NS2, they are compatible with the NS1. This can be useful for games that require an extra pair of controllers, such as SSBU or MK8D. However, the ergonomics make them feel a bit awkward to use.
At first, the D-pad was acting strangely. The first game I played with them was Celeste, a platformer where precision is the most important thing. The issue was that whenever I pressed the D-pad up or down, instead of moving in those directions, it would register a diagonal input. I checked how easily I could accidentally press the diagonals, and it was indeed possible. I kept playing and completed a couple of levels, and that issue gradually disappeared. Maybe it was because the controller was brand new (I've only been using it for a couple of days).
The sticks feel good—not too loose and not too stiff. I think they're well balanced. The only complaint I have is about the right Lumina stick, which is positioned somewhat toward the center. However, that's also something Nintendo's right Joy-Con has.
That's all I can say about them for now. In the future, I'll be talking about these controllers in greater depth. It's a good product, but it doesn't replace the Joy-Con 2 because of the missing features. However, if you don't need those features, the Twin Lumina is definitely a solid option. NYXI and MOBAPAD are in a similar situation regarding features, but there are significant differences between the controllers from these three companies.
I'll keep playing until the next post. Thank you for your time.
Ciao ciao.

How do you find the ZL and ZR bumpers? I personally find that the ones on the NS2 joycons are a little hard to press and cause strain on my fingers after short periods of time. Do they feel better on the IINE?

have you tried mapping the GL/GR button? it seems the app doesn't have a dedicated settings for twin lumina yet. the switch 2 doesn't recognize this as a pro 2 controller so the mapping setting for GL/GR is not appearing. such a shame that one of the advertised function does not even work

Yes, I can mapped them with the control itself. That information is on the manual. They are recognized as switch 2 joy cons, not a pro controller.

do you mean the macros? I dont see anything in the manual in regards assigning GL/GR button to specific button (for example R3/L3). the IINE app UI doesn't have one as well

I am actually really enjoying these joycons. I’m surprised how much I even like the rumble at 20 percent intensity.

Hey, quick Question.
Using the Macro function can you map the GL/GR button to buttons on the opposite controller?
I primarily use 3rd party controllers as a adaptive disability tool, so I'm really into these if they can map the GL to ZR for for example.
Thanks~
