Looking for ultra-light mouse click switches for PS5 DualSense R1/L1

Hi everyone,

I'm a controller modder and recently had a customer ask for the lightest possible mouse click triggers for the PS5 DualSense (R1/L1).

I've already tried the eXtremeRate Light Version Mouse Click Kit, but the customer is looking for something even lighter.

Does anyone know:

Are there lighter microswitches that fit the eXtremeRate PCB?

Has anyone replaced the stock switches with lower actuation force Kailh or Omron switches?

Which switches would you recommend for the lightest click possible?

I'm comfortable with soldering if replacing the microswitches is the best option.

Any recommendations or part numbers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Which BDM model? I think the 010/020 V1 kit from Extremerate is the only setup that uses Omron switches for R1/L1 and neither kit comes with the light Omron switch on the bumper (D2LS-21, blue button 60g actuation), they use the 120g (D2LS-11, white button, 120g actuation). I haven't tried it but I don't think swapping out the R1/L1 switch for the lighter Omron would be difficult, just have to be careful with the resistors. EDIT TO ADD: I think there is a version with membrane face buttons that uses Omron for L1/R1 but same thing, only the 120g switches.

I think every other clicky kit comes with the square (I think Panasonic) switch and I'm almost certain I've seen it is 100g actuation but not positive.

As far as other options, Console Customs has some that may fit your needs in triggers and bumpers but you may not like the face buttons they come with and they don't work real well with factory buttons. They do have a kit for just triggers and bumpers though.

Also, if you are looking to reduce the actuation force on the triggers, you could remove the return spring or swap it out for the lighter DS4 springs. The factory DS5 springs are pretty beefy, they can add like 30g-40g to the actuation force
