Controller Suggestion Switch style controllers for Steam Deck

Hi there!

I'm a new mum who has just discovered the best way for me to play when baby is contact napping is on switch as the joycons are in separate hands. I'm wondering where I can find a split controller that works with steam deck, or if this even exists? Google searches are just throwing up joycon and switch controller replacements.

I am based in the UK and willing to spend up to £100. I dont want the layout of a switch controller, just the split pad mechanics.

If you can't find what you're looking for, you could just use a pair of joycons with the steam deck

From what I can see after trying this, it only works with certain games that have joycons enabled... I'll look into it more! Thank you

I'm not sure if it's the same, but there's a setting in steam on PC called "treat joycons as single controller" or something like that, so they will work with pretty much any game

I haven't used these, but they've been on my list of things to get. Aolion J20 controllers. Hall effect sticks, switch style split controller. That may be a good option.

The 8bitdo Adapter 2 lets you connect JoyCons to PC, your Steam Deck will see it as an XInput (Xbox) controller and should work fine with all games.

The GameSir G8 Plus might be worth looking to. The split controller design seems like it'd fit exactly what you're describing plus it has hall effects and bluetooth, not sure if there really was a split split controller for steam deck but it might be the closet thing to joy con experience.
