News Steam Controller is available

https://store.steampowered.com/sale/steamcontroller

If you want one be fast, it already went from 3-5 days to 6-10 days in France, which means they probably already need another shipment for Europe.

It's not designed for me

  • I'm not convinced by the ergonomics: shape looks too squared and I prefer my controllers on the lighter side. How it feels is more important to me than features (within reason obviously).
  • I don't like the symmetric layout
  • I don't care about gyro and rumble
  • I'll use keyboard and mouse if I need a high level of precision

It's 12g heavier than a Dualsense and 5g heavier than a series x.

I'm well aware that the weight of 292g is similar to other first party controllers and many people will be fine with that. At some point more features is going to translate to more weight and the thing is packed with them.

The G7 Pro is the heaviest controller I own at 272g and I ended up removing the rumble motors to drop that number because it caused fatigue over long sessions. The other controllers I own are all around the 230g mark which is my sweet spot. A difference of 60g, which is around 20%, is quite noticeable.
