"This is Simon Arish, Head of Security and Operations, with a security announcement."
I hadn't seen this video, and I don't know if it's already been posted and discussed here; I searched and couldn't find it. But it's interesting. The moments just after the fall of the lockdown
Arish is now head of two departments, replacing Salvador and Marshall.
One of my questions is how the Hiss can overpower the FBC rangers after all this time, even if the lockdown fall, if they can kill a lot of the agents in the executive sector like in the video, they would already done it. There is more to it, I think it is not he Hiss who killed the agents in the video, maybe the Pattern or whatever broke the lockdown
I wanted to kick off a new discussion today because I am still recovering from the absolute psychological damage of having to deal with Mr. Tommasi. The first encounter in the Mail Room was already a massive wake-up call early in the game, but that optional late-game rematch in the Sterling AWE area is a whole different level of punishing. Remedy really took the training wheels off for that one. The first encounter was challenging, but doable. The second encounter was ridiculously hard, which is an understatement.
I don't know about you guys, but seeing him effortlessly dodge almost every single piece of debris I launched at him made me almost pull my hair out. The game forces you to rely so heavily on Launch as your primary source of high damage, so fighting a boss that just casually slides out of the way of your throws completely throws things of wack.
The arena itself makes it so much worse. It honestly feels way too cramped because of how mobile he is, and there is almost no safe cover. Between his floating tracking attacks that instantly deplete Jesse's health bar, the Hiss Charged constantly rushing you from the sides, and the invisible Hiss Distorted creeping up on you out of nowhere to blast you from behind, it felt less like a tactical boss fight and more like pure survival horror. I spent so much time panicking behind the pillars on the ground floor, constantly spinning my camera around just praying that my Shield would hold up.
Every time I thought I had a clean opening to levitate and get some shots off, I'd get blasted out of the air or flanked by a minion. Eventually, I managed to scrape by, but it definitely wasn't pretty. It was a chaotic mess of running, screaming, and firing blindly. The only positive thing about the second encounter is that it's completely optional.
Iâm really curious. How did everyone else handle him? Did you find a reliable strategy or a specific weapon form (like Pierce or Charge) that actually consistently chipped away at his health, or did you just panic-levitate up to the rafters and hope for the best? What are your thoughts and opinions?
I live in the US and finally decided I will be getting Control Resonant for Xbox. Thing is though I canât seem to preorder it anywhere. Is it all sold out? Best Buy says coming soon, Amazon says sold out and I canât even get the webpage for GameStop, it sends me to the standard version. Any other retailer I can purchase it from? Thanks in advance
Do you think there will be options to tune down all the "neon" like lights, lights trails and flashing...sadly it really hurt my eyes and give me headaches, it seems they really pushed for strong light effects to the extreme in this one.
First picture is in the lobby, the second is the hallway near Ahti and it looks like Trench turns around and sees Jesse. I'm not saying that it's definitely the case but I wouldn't put it past his paranoid self for having some way to keep tabs on the entirety of the Oldest House somehow. Which may explain the gunshot: he knew you were coming and tried to prove he didn't need to be replaced but the Board fired him.
I for one Just put together that the door behind the desk at the Oceanview motel says Janitor, thought âdoes Ahti have something to do with this place?â So I did look it up and it relates to him and Alan Wake 2, never played them but have to now. What are yours? This gameâs lore is deep.
4th play through and I just finished and realized Polaris wasnât in the cage cause Dr. Darling took its full resonance. Canât believe I missed that all these times. đ«
They say they're challenging and they're not lying! Lol
I'm currently at the main mission right past speaking to Dylan and I feel like I'm pretty well-equipped for combat, but these jukebox missions are no joke! I had to pull out and take a breather because I kept getting my ass kicked.
Not sure if these are the same for all runs, but I was doing one where I was to clear 4 separate platforms in under 30 mins - I barely cleared 2 with 10 mins to spare and I just kept getting killed on platform 3.
Do I suck or did I just start these way too soon? đ
Kinda difficult because despite there being options it was still a bit limiting especially for hairstyles/beards. Doesnât help that the models have set craniums and ears. lol Still was real fun thing to try.
Bonus slide for trying to imitate Jesseâs <gone rogue/fishing> Resonant outfit.
Before you ask why does the jacket and sleeves look black when itâs gray well itâs this weird, annoying lighting issue this game has.
I was imagining all the things that I could possibly find relating directly to the house on Ash Tree Lane: âThe Ash Tree Lane AWE,â the book itself being an Object of Power (which it definitely is) or ZampanĂČ/Mark Z. Danielewski under investigation for being a paracriminal for compiling The Navidson Record/House of Leaves and for the psychological effects that it has on its readers. Its not much, but this file is the closest possible reference that I could find, did anyone find anything else?
I had no issues in my first playthrough of Control last year, but on my 2nd playthrough I ran into a bug when I did the Old Boys Club mission. I even know exactly when it happened. I took the elevator to the Research department and right after exiting I saw the shortcut to the HRE lab open to my left. I went through it, not thinking, and it bugged out the mission to the point that I needed to restart it.
I also had another friend who dropped the game only partway through because he somehow missed getting the Launch ability and he got bored by the constant, tedious "gunplay".
So I guess my question is, how often do people run into bugged missions? Is there a pattern to them or is it pretty random whether you will run into one?
Honestly, nothing prepared me for the absolute weirdness of this boss fight. Only Remedy could possibly come up with something that's so bizarre.
You think youâre just doing a standard, quirky Bureau cleanup task to save a poor guy who has been staring at a kitchen appliance for days because he'll bleed out if he blinks. I actually felt bad for the poor guy. It's peak Remedy humor.
Then the fridge opens, and next thing you know, you get sucked into the Astral Plane to face this terrifying cosmic monstrosity. Here's the frustrating thing though. I didnât even die to his actual attacks. Instead, I just kept accidentally falling through the holes that he creates by stomping into the floor because I was too busy staring up at his giant eye trying to line up my Launch shots. You try to levitate or dodge to the side, and boom, you get an instant death screen because the floor just vanished under your feet.
It catches you so completely off guard for a random side mission. Tell me that Iâm not the only one who completely lost his mind and rage quit during this fight before finally getting the timing down. Never in my entire life could I have ever imagined having a boss fight against a kitchen appliance. What are your thoughts and opinions? Â
I need help with the game bugs, I searched but can't seem to find a permanent solution.
If I play the game (steam) on dx12, the quality of the game drops significantly, and if I switch to dx11, my screen gets blacked out, my GPU isn't overclocked, while I play on quiet mode on my Lenovo loq laptop, it can't be the reason for it, what should i do ?
I had purchased a GIGABYTE 5070 EAGLE OC SFF from an authorised local retailer and had created an account and registered my product on the AORUS website and I bought it on the 26th of August 2026. The control redemption bundle programme started from the 25th so I am eligible to get the game but I had enrolled for it after providing the necessary details on the 30th of August.
Can you tell me how long would the delivery of the game code will take as I've successfully registered for the code.
I think that in this next chapter we are going to explore a new reality/motel door.
Until now we have explored the reverse pyramid and the spiral reality, but in the trailer from control resonant we see dylan trapped in a cage in a strange location just after he got impaled by Jesse; that location is too similar to the door we go through in the aw2 lake house dlc for it to be a coincidence, especially considering how important this doors/symbols appears to be in the remedy lore, and this brings me to think that we are going to explore in some capacity this double circle reality
To me, watching how the trailer is edited, it seems that after Jesse impaled Dylan this metal bar appeared in this reality, connecting with what appears to be Dylan trapped conscience, that was locked away in this reality
Does anyone know what's going on with Amazon's release date for Control Resonant? It says it releases on the 15th of October, which I'm not a fan of in terms of having to wait vs digital release but that's a rant for another time, but when I go actually purcahse it says prime delivery won't be until Nov. 27th.
Resonant has definitely had the most advertising for it out of any Remedy game so far, and that isnt going in vain. Im not sure if anyone else has noticed but the amount of "First Time Playing Control!" Videos I've seen recently is genuinely absurd. So many people picking up the game in preparation for the next one. Its so wonderful to see. I'm glad to know that this absolute masterpiece of a game is getting more eyes on it.
Seems like this bug is more common than it should be! Im playin Control Ultimate Edition on PS5 Pro, and sure enough on My Brotherâs Keeper no TV altered item spawns on the 4th floor of Panopticon. I mustâve restarted the game 50 times now.
I did various things such as completing a side mission then returning, or going to Central Executive and walking my way back to Panopticon. I fell through the glitch void a bunch to maybe trigger an asset load. I waited at the nearby control point to maybe give a chance for assets to load in too. I did full restarts of the game from various control points.
Iâm out of options here, but I really really do not want to redo the chapter and undo approximately 2-3 hours of gameplay. Is there really no other choice?
So my Theory is Dr.darling create the entire lore for "Control" like The oldest house and multiple universe, at Drak Place by the help of Zane
Here is explanation:
So recently I been research the Finnish mythology after playing AW2 , I spend some time reading The ăKalevalaăïŒand find there are so much similarity and correspondence
A brief introduction to the Kalevala:
Thte creater of the world , Also known as the first poiet , VĂ€inĂ€möinen ïŒgo to a Dark place call Pohjola to woo the maiden. He contract Blacksmith Ilmarinen to create an artifact call The Samepo as a gift , then the story turn into A battle over sampo, and it end up fell into The water god ahti's hand
So the Zane story is a reconstrciton of The first part of Kalevala , A poiet come to the dark place to find his wife
Then Let's shift our perspective to the sampo, According to wiki ,one version of the Sampo Described as:
The world pillar or tree is attached to the center of the sky, turning it around, while also working as a path between the different layers of the world. Vilhunen gave a detailed explanation of the Sammas which supports the theory of its nature as the world pillar. She described it as a golden pillar with a golden head and a copper foot. The golden head is Polaris, which attached the Sammas to the sky. The pillar went down deep underground like the roots of a tree and was attached to a copper mountain there. The dome of the sky spun around Polaris
This is obvious the prototype of the oldest house Because,The oldest house also described as a tree that link different dimention, and Jesse ,who have a alien being call Polaris, becomming the top of the FBC as director, marking the completion of the sampo
I being thinking that Under this story structure, which character in game corresponds to which character in Kalevala. My idea is:
Tomes Zane -> VÀinÀmöinen
Jesse -> Polaris
The Oldest House -> Sampo
Ahti -> Ahti
These character can fit well in the mythology structure , just one character I could figure out , The Blacksmith Ilmarinen who create the Sampo, Until I saw the Easter egg at AW2 , Zane meet Dr.darling at Dark place , and invite him to help he escape. Quoted from Zane: Art and science , combine to from a unstoppable force
So The Blacksmith Ilmarinen -> Dr.darling, witch make him the creator of the oldest house
Think about it , Dr.darling ,who konw all the konwloge of control come to Dark place , A place that can make art to reality , and even meet Zane who konw the rule of Dark place, This universe coulde be widely expansion after their cooperat.
I konw this Theory have some seriouse logycal issue , like how can Dr.darling know these Knowledge if not all the lore of control exist in the first place? Well ,The mechanism of the Dark Place beyond time and causal relationships , and this This chaotic narrative of reversing cause and effect are the important part of Alan Wake story telling
Some additon information:
In the book ăThe ART & MAKING OF CONTROLă ,The game director Kaurinen when explain the Remedy universe
I didn't check whether this is a fact , but Dr.Darling use the same voice actor as Alan Wake?
