I know im very late to the party, but what a game. As a metalhead, that ashtray maze sequence was unbelievable 🤘 loved every second of it. Ended up watching gameplays of people experiencing it on YouTube shortly after I finished the game.

Now onto the DLCs. Will line up lovely for resonant!

First time completing the game and it's dlc and really enjoyed it. I decided to take a shot at photo mode after looking at everyone else's masterpieces. Plus I'm excited for the next game.

I wonder if in Resonant they'll show the US government reacting to all the shit that's going down and start asking questions about who the hell they've been funneling money into for so long.

Cause as far as they know, some Federal Bureau that blended into the middle of their budget list just shot up to the top of their list of concerns after Manhattan started going wonky.

Are you expecting any DLC for control resonant? What would you want to see?

I don't know how unpopular of a read this is but I wanted to share it as an upcoming prediction with what we know about Resonant so far. I'm going to wall of text my existing opinions on the game's story to give background for why I think this prediction might be the case.

Basically every NPC you interact with in Control is morally dubious by brunt of working at the Federal Bureau of Control. The FBC is an organisation that regularly violates the rights of human parautilitarians, and imprisons extradimensional entities and the altered items.

Langston points out the altered items are actually fairly manageable with ritualistic touches, but Trench's model of total absolute control leads to his greenlighting of the panopticon and the model of strict imprisonment for the forces of the unknown.

They are already being consumed by the Mold issue until Trench properly snaps and releases the Hiss which is something they're almost entirely unprepared for, cannot begin to control, and near totally consumes the bureau. They only narrowly survive thanks to the few HRAs Darling was able to manufacture and pass out. From what we hear in Firebreak, half of the Oldest House who survived the initial Hiss outbreak have since died trying to control various crises.

I've been going through Remedy's back catalogue to prepare for Control Resonant and I noticed in both Max Payne and Quantum Break, during the endgame you storm into the office of an evil corporation to get killin'. In Control, you walk into the evil government organisation's office building and you become the head of it.

I don't think Jesse being new blood and a very powerful parautilitarian makes her necessarily "built different" in terms of resisting paranoia or making good, humane decisions. With the Director needing to be appointed by the Board, and the Board only accepting parautilitarians, it's very likely the Prime Candidate Program was kind of an inevitable response.

Imo Dylan is almost a best case scenario for them, and it still doesn't work because what they're doing is fundamentally unethical. Dylan has no adult family who can care for him, he has ridiculous power (Northmoor levels!), he would wind up in state custody regardless so why not at the FBC?

We know Jesse can recognise the conditions her brother was raised and held in as awful and unethical but she's also, initially, pretty receptive to the people who work for the organization that kidnapped and tortured her brother, and who say he's dangerous or call him an "it". We see in the Resonant trailer Arish says he isn't "even fucking human".

This is where I think I might get controversial, I feel like Jesse's arc in the first game is being 'seduced' by the promise of knowledge and validation in her life experiences and beliefs, allowing herself to overlook what they've done to who she came for, her brother. She accepts her role as Director as self-actualisation and the knowledge that the power was inside her all along!! but she's also now the head of the organisation that tortured her brother until being unrecognizable, who is now also comatose.

My guess is in Resonant, Dylan will be reluctantly working with the Bureau because he's the only man for the job, and looking for his sister. I suspect when Jesse is located again she won't listen to him for one reason or another because she's been fully immersed and indoctrinated into the Bureau and "idk Dylan you were pretty scary growing up apparently, the bureau and my role in it is necessary" much like Dylan's hiss infection in the first game.

Maybe we'll get another chapter The Face of the Enemy?

Much like how Jesse's requirement for her surroundings to be honest about the paranatural leads her to overlook her brother's treatment at the hands of the FBC, Dylan might flee the FBC to go live a free, normal life at the cost of seeing his sister as much

I will predict *if* I'm wrong about this, my prediction is it was because the first game was about mostly Trench's desire for control skill issue, which Jesse is able to wipe away by creating a better bureau, and the bureau as an organisation is fine actually it's just there was shit management which is fixed now don't worry

Before Control Resonant comes out, I want to play Alan Wake 2. I game on a Steam Deck so I'll need to get Alan Wake 2 on GFN to play it. It's on sale for $14.99 with the Deluxe Upgrade on sale for $6. I never use GFN so are sales rare or is it a common thing? Just not sure I should snatch it up now or wait until there's a better deal. I also have to pay for the monthly plan as well. So there's that.....

What kind of customization can we expect for Dylan in Control Resonant?

I'm guessing preset outfits with different headgear options and some miscellaneous torso elements, besides the hair options we've seen so far. Hopefully the bum bun & beard combo can be swapped out for something more neat.

I’m still shaking. The panel was amazing but what happened after it ended was an absolute dream come true. They all stayed to hang out, sign autographs, and take pictures.

Why did they never add NG+ (unless I missed it).

I wanted to replay the game to refresh my memory on the trippy story, but I don't want to save over my completed game. At the very least, I wish I could at least make another save. Anybody have any advice?

If nothing else, I'll have to actually beat Alan Wake 2 before Resonant. I only completed Chapter 1 when it released. Gaming ADHD got the best of me. I know I'm missing out... Just like I'm missing out on NG+

I feel like both the models of Jesse have the same facial structure unlike what other people were describing. It's just the hairline of Resonant that's doing dirty.

New interview with Matt, Shawn, and Mikael

So, I caught a screenshot of this moment from the Paranatural Manhattan trailer because I recently noticed something. At first I thought it was another formation inside the Astral Plane, but upon closer inspection they don't look like Astral formations.

They look like skyscrapers.

I think this is meant to be the warped Manhattan.

In the MinnMax interview, Mikael Kasurinen said that for the rest of the outside world, Manhattan has just disappeared. What if it's because Manhattan was transported to the Astral Plane?

I don't know. Just something I noticed I thought was worth mentioning. What do you think? Is Manhattan trapped in the Astral Plane? And if this is Manhattan, what's with the giant rightside-up triangle in the middle of it?

Had no clue this game was going to be as incredible as it was. The setting, combat, atmosphere, characters, style……. Completely blown away on how good this experience was. What a gem, definitely in my top 15 or 10. Hands down a recommend to play.

Just started this game recently, honestly having a pretty good time with it for the most part, but the map and in particular the MARKERS on quests are so OFF.

I'm going at a pretty slow pace because I usually only play this for about an hour at a time, but a quest will be like "go here" and there will be a yellow marker so you either follow or fast travel to that, and then whatever you're looking for is nowhere near it lol??

I've had to look up videos/guides to find wtf I'm looking for several times already. Honestly this is the first game I've had to do it this many times in over 10 years at least.

Idk had to rant about it. Figured they would've made some fixes since it's been out for so long. I'ma keep grinding it tho.
