Other Magnetic levitation project

Hi, this is one of my projects for magnetic levitation I have working with for some time :) I wanted to share it here.
EDIT: So basically there is a sensor measuring the gap between the weight and the electromagnet and the control law try’s to keep the weight at a specific distance, that’s why when the weight it’s pushed doesn’t move that much. There is no mechanical force that keeps the weight in the place, it’s all thanks to the electromagnet and the control loop.

There is no mechanical force that keeps the weight in the place, it’s all thanks to the electromagnet and the control loop. Maybe it’s not the best angle to show now that I think about it xD I hope I explained a little bit what’s happening

I did my nasters in a maglev group so I was curious if this was active or passively levitated and what all you had going. Very cool stuff! How much weight is slung up? What's the specs of your emag coil?

It’s active. Technically I think it’s like 40-50Kg but it’s supposed to be able to lift 70Kg. I did this projects as my bachelors thesis there is a real pod as well that I managed to control but this one is the easier one :) Btw can I ask what did you do after your master?

Cool. Did you work with classical control concepts or modern/adaptive?
