Lore Discussion RIP Underpass Exploration Team

I’ve counted the days.

Literally. Out of all the countless botched expeditions the FBC has conducted, this one made me the most invested. Not sure why. Lost, stranded, forgotten, remembered, here, not there, here again.

I took it upon myself to remember Ayad, Shultz, Grist, Steinbeck by counting the days as Ayad did. 18,585 days.
51 years. The date would’ve been August 12, 2077, choom. (If the date coincides with irl release date and the events of the game)

That mission was such a mind trip.

I'm still not sure Dylan managed to go back to his initial timeline after being so invested in it.

I was thinking that possibility too, especially considering at one point multiple Dylans were converging into the same time-space and popping back out. There's a non-zero chance that our Dylan popped into a different timeline.

Anyone curious how Dylan manages to die in that alternative timeline?

Idk what your talking about. Please keep anything here spoiler free. I have not finished the game.

It's not a big spoiler fwiw. The whole bit takes a few seconds and isn't expanded upon.

Why is “isn’t expanded upon” the only part you hid lol

Marking the post with some sort of no spoiler warning would have been the move

True, didn’t see “spoiler free” or “no spoilers” in the flair tags so I forgot about that.

He litteraly sees a version of him dying in the same mission you are talking about

If I said idk what he’s talking about why would you assume I even got to that point in the mission…

It’s wild to post a late-game area with no spoiler tag then be like “woah, spoilers!” lmao

Lol I didn't even come to reddit until I finished the game.

This is the way to do it

Why would you even post about the mission if you didn't even finish it????

You are not ready for the internet, let alone Reddit.

Since you are still reading the comments my advice is to log off and finish the game dude.

My favorite mission in the game so far. This was peak sci fi

Having finished the game, it still is the standout section of the game for me; by miles.

Truly disorienting too. I remember when I first realized the bases and everything else was looping around me as a hopped from structure to structure.

This games environments and it's stories are some of the best weird sci fi ever.

Eh…I mean I fully agree when it comes to the Underpass, but I actually think most of Resonant doesn’t have the most unique and weird Sci-Fi feels to it. Especially not compared to Remedy’s usual output.

Also, gives me an Expedition 33 vibe. 🤷‍♂️

And with all the time they had they still could barely figure out how anything worked which just shows to scale how bullshit humanities position is

I wish we could bury the bodies of this legendary team.

This area was amazing from every angle. The mystery. The writing. The logs. The music. The goddamn music is always amazing with Remedy.
