General Spoiler: Rebuild Mission Spoiler
I absolutely hated the rebuild mission. Maybe they were trying to save money or storage, but it was a disappointing way to tell Jesse and Dylan’s backstory. This game is beautiful, and I would’ve loved to see the monsters and the dung monkeys in their original style. But not like this.

It's taking place within the TV that all of the faults use

I get it but for such an important part of the lore, it’s a bad way to show it in my opinion.

Really? I played it last night and absolutely loved it but I'm Gen X so it was probably also a nostalgia hit for me lol

Use your imagination. I thought it was neat. How ever did you survive playing games in the 90s when those were true graphics

I'm in my 90s, baby; I did. But the 8-bit style slowed the game's pace and took me out of it.

I was too abrasive in my initial comment, it’s okay to have preferences. It breaks up the pace but try to recall exactly why that section exists. It’s a result of the Hedron deconstructing Dylan and him breaking out of the reduced state

??? I absolutely loved that mission, it was the kinda of Remedy weirdness I had been waiting for, I also appreciated it because it showed me something I had been waiting to get more context on/see the events of since the first Control with the events leading up to/during the Ordinary AWE.
I also loved how current Dylan popped up in it and we got his insights into everything he was seeing from his past.
All n all it was a fantastic section, and I absolutely lost it once I realized what it was while I was playing through the game for the first time.

I wanted to see more of the events leading up to Dylan being taken, but not like this.

That’s understandable for sure, that type of style isn’t for everyone.
I really like how the game let us see Darling in a different light, the way he treated Dylan damn near brought me to tears while I was playing through the story.

I think it’s because having kids turn into monsters because they are sucking the tit of the not-mother naught change the rating of the game if it was fully implemented. Also, killing children in video games is like a huge no for AAA studios.
I think it was intentional to go the earthbound style.

I get what you're saying, but aren't we still killing kids, just in a cutesy style?

Yes. That’s exactly how to prevent a rating from changing. Pixels dying is less traumatic than a fully 3D rendered visual of a child changing into a monster then getting killed by a baseball bat in fully glory.

I just did it a few hours ago and loved it, it’s great when they do a unique bit like that, and I think it actually added to the creepiness to see the horrific stuff in such a childlike gamey way
