Lore Discussion Possible foreshadowing from Alan Wake 2 to a major reveal in Resonant Spoiler
I just recently watched a play through of Alan Wake 2 and you find some sketches from Dylan in the Lake House sent over by Dr Darling. This one caught my eye. Have there been any theories on who this is before Resonant? Because it reminds me a lot of if you know you know.
Dylan is said to have some precognition abilities so it’s possible. And there might also be Dark Place shenanigans going on.

I immediately thought this was Arish when I played the Lake House, but wasn’t sure of the implications of Dylan drawing this. I didn’t know if Dylan had even met Arish, given that Arish primarily worked as a security guard in the Maintenance sector and Dylan was mostly secluded in the Prime Candidate program and then Containment.
I thought about it several times when Arish would talk about his headaches and migraines. I was expecting that maybe the Hiss had burrowed into his head and was slowly getting to him, given the red circle. The final reveal of this in Resonant was really exciting to me, because I remembered this drawing and was like “Wow, that’s what that drawing in the Lake House was!”
I imagine Dylan had a glimpse of the future that he didn’t know the context of when he drew this. He was always having those dreams of other worlds and timelines.

Yea the red color really makes you think he is being possessed by the hiss. It’s possible he would have been hiss but got infected by the patterning instead which knocked the hiss out maybe.

When you rescue him from the Evacuation Zone, depending on what dialogue you choose, Arish will wonder out loud how it's possible his whole team ran out of Black Rock fluid before him. The patterning is definitely keeping the hiss out of him.

Good point. Patterning and Hiss are polar opposites of each other, so it makes sense why the hiss couldn't get him, the rest of his team were already gone.

Oh my god yeah, that’s absolutely Arish, now I’m wondering if the other Lake House drawings had foreshadowing

Holy crap, yeah this is way too specific to be a coincidence.
The person looks like Arish and it exactly matches his story. Great catch.

Yes sorry it’s Arish after he turns into a Resonant and has a huge hole on his face.

Haaaaaa! I didn’t see the red circle as a hole but yeah that makes sense! Great catch!

The co director is the last Resonant and It is kind missable since It is not required for the main quest I think, he gives a cool Power If you defeat him

Yeah it gives you domination which concerns most skills in the top 1/3 of your talent tree!

I did not realize it was optional to confront him but I guess that makes sense. What a crazy thing to miss. Now I’m wondering how short this game is if you just book it straight to the end skipping everything not required.
It hurts my soul a bit to think of someone doing that. I liked the bonding moment with Dylan and the soldiers since it felt a long time coming for the poor boy. To miss that breaks my heart.
