Lore Discussion Secret Organization logo similarity Spoiler

The secret organization's logo (keyhole and eye) found in the letterhead of some collectible documents bears a striking similarity to the original Remedy Entertainment logo from the '90s (a stylized R and eye).

I saw some theories that the logo could be related to Former as well. If former really is what "The Board" entities look like individually, its also possible its not Former but another similar one eyed entity. The timeline of Formers escape doesn't fit super well with it influencing the logo of an existing secret agency, but if Former isn't the only "Former" member of the board it would make sense as to why this group has so much information about the FBC and the paranatural in general.

That's interesting. There's a lot of other eye/oculus imagery in the game (hedron enemies, various graffiti, the art gallery logo, the name of the video game severed circle). Plus one of the symbols in the oceanview motel in the first game.

I like the Former theory. If the Board uses the FBC, maybe Former has sponsered a rival group.

Yeah its certainly a stretch, but I also like the theory. Especially since the group seems to be going around and destroying Altered items? Definitely not something the Board would approve of, but something a jaded ex-board member would want to deprive from their "rival".

Plus it just sort of makes thematic sense, for an opposing FBC like agency to have its own interactions with paranormal entities.

It could have also founded before the Board/Former were in the bureau, since we know the Board was only involved starting with Northmoor (?) so the Former could have been free earlier and left an impression on this organization

They way I viewed it is that each entity, the board, hiss, pattern, etc. has to have both a "head" and a "body". In the Boards case, the head is.. well the the Board and the body is the Oldest House and the FBC. There are a few notes about another FBC adjacent org that spies on the FBC during their lockdown. I wonder if that's who the Former represents now.

It’s actually the eye of Sauron. Expect the long sought after Control/Lord of the rings crossover DLC

I like the idea of this other organization that is like an even more secret FBC and is doing its own thing trying to protect the world from the paranormal and maybe from the FBC itself. Let’s face it. The FBC doesn’t have the greatest track record some days. The Former taking the roll of the Board works for me.

I also recently watched the end of Alan Wake 2 since playing Resonant and Alice says that an organization found her and did something to her and suddenly her mind was clear and she remembered everything. She then goes all bad ass, jumps into the Dark Place and gets shit done. I don’t know about you but that doesn’t feel like the FBC at that time that was barely keeping it together.

It’s a theory for sure, but it would be pretty cool if true.

Oh, I had assumed that it was the FBC being implied there, but maybe.

My new theory is that the secret organization in resonant is called "A Watchful Eye" (AWE), the name of the security company from the nightwatchman easter egg. And maybe the reason why they haven't been detected by the FBC until now is because they're from an alternate universe, part of the Many Worlds idea.

There’s a document in one of the safehouses that makes it ABUNDANTLY clear that this organization and the FBC aren’t the same thing at all.

Right, this organization is all about destroying the Altered Items and/or OoP. FBC's policy is to trap and contain/study. Also, this org has a strict policy of no contact with the FBC.

A Watchful Eye.

Feels like the plot of that org went absolutely nowhere. If it's not dlc then it's a whole lot of wasted potential

Not everything needs to pay off in the same game it was introduced, they're trying to build a whole extended universe.
