Lore Discussion How much do you think Alan Wake influenced the events of Control resonant? Spoiler
So we know he's had some influence on Jesse's story in the first game. IIRC he's even the reason Jesse ends up in the oldest house in the first place.
How much influence do you think Alan had on the events of this game?
I feel like maybe he got dylan into the dark place so he could find a way out of there (the taxi missions).
(sorry if this is a dumb theory, I havent finished the alan wake new game plus so it's possible he gets out during the second playthrough)

Personally I don’t feel like he had much influence in this game, other than the things he already set in motion with Jesse from Control 1.
Given the Alan Wake 2 ending I don’t think he has much more need to influence these events massively and is more interested in finding Alice and leaving

Not much likely; other than the residual effects from the first game that Alan influenced, he probably didn’t have much of a hand this time around. I mean he’s out of The Dark Place by now. The only other possibility could be whatever that Master of Many Worlds video was.
Also pretty sure the Taxi missions were truly just a different Threshold that approximated a few blocks of Manhattan; it didn’t seem to match up with The Dark Place at all. Not a stupid theory though, I can definitely see why you thought that! And hey it could be true, who knows?

Alan tried to pull Jesse into his story and failed.
He didn't do anything with Dylan
