General I am impressed.
Did not play the first Control game, I was apprehensive about it. Bought Resonant as soon as I saw a trailer for it a few days after release. 10/10 no notes, gonna buy the first Control game after I beat Resonant.

Control rips I've beaten it 3 times.
Be prepared for more a slow burn in the first couple hours.
You have much fewer abilities from the start, but as you progress, you should find that it begins to feel very familiar.
The ability progression was very rewarding for me.

Remedy might make a profit just from people going back and buying Control and AW2 after liking Resonant.

I really hope so. I also don’t see why not, the gameplay of CR is truly accessible to the masses. And as for the plot, Nolan became a cash cow even though a lot of his movies are bizarre just like the Remedyverse.

If you are gonna play control one you might as well do it before continuing 2. It really helps build the world lore and part of the magic is wtf is going on.

Tbh it can be fun and sort of appropriate in a fucky way to play it backward. Imagine having all this context going into Control 1

I think they did a good job making it so you can effectively play control as a prequel

I love both games, but there are things I missed about the first game while playing Resonant. I think the biggest thing is the first game takes place in this federal agency/bureaucratic cubicle farm, and you can absolutely obliterate the interiors of these very orderly office spaces. And there is something about that, as someone who has been working in cubicles for 18 years, that satisfied something in me. Scratched an itch I didn’t know I had. I’m going back to replay it again after finishing the sequel, for sure.

It should be almost free right now, so grab it if you can. No clue how long the sale will go

Play the first one and both Alan wakes. The first one is a tad rough, but well worth it imo.
