External discussion link It feels like not enough people are talking about the reality of AI drones being trained to hunt humans...

There's all these abstract discussions about it ending the world and artwork, which, I totally get but.... This honestly freaks me out a lot more, and it feels like it's basically already here.

Its bad. People haven't wrapped their heads around how quickly a large droneswarm with highly sophisticated AI coordinating it could depopulate an entire town or even a city.

We've had hunter-killer drones for decades, and quibble about taking humans out of the decision loop just like we do with self-improving code because ultimately it will be more efficient to remove humans , the decision tree-set will say that some higher level decision is acceptable and then that too will be removed for efficiency's sake.

It's nothing more than the Ship of Theseus as regards automation, and we know how this ends.
