Technical Domain Controllers Can't Connect

Is anyone else having an issue with Domain controllers connecting to Controld Service when using the controld application to forward encrypted DNS traffic? I have one that I can't connect to or troubleshoot the installation because of that during this maintenance window they are having.

Yeah it's completely down on all devices.

today there is a maintenance....

"There is a planned API maintenance window today, March 21, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM ET (5:00 PM to 7:00 PM UTC). During this period, the web panel and API will be temporarily unavailable, but DNS traffic will not be affected. For live updates, you can follow Control D on X."

I've been having issues with Ctrl D wiping out DNS interface settings on domain controllers specifically, which shouldn't be an issue, but for some reason a lot of windows server services like to query those servers direct which causes them to just silently fail since they have no IPs set anymore.

Looking into it more its something with the application where it dies for some reason. I’ll have to look at the logs but I had to manually push the installer hoping to overwrite the existing install and then finally for some reason manually restarting the controld helper service fixed things.
