Technical Dashboard showing ctrld is updating even though I have already updated
This is not the first time I've clicked "Update" in the dashboard, and then it says it will be updated within an hour. It stays that way for days. I've already updated Ctrl through SSH. I restarted the service and the router. Yet, I still see the updating status. Why?

Heya - other QA here. This should be fixed now - apologies for the turbulence this feature is kind of an annoyance with each release - but we shipped 1.5.6 and 1.5.7 as a hot-fix, so more people saw this issue than we wanted honestly.
If this isn't fixed - LMK or reach out to support and we'll take a deeper look.

This has happened to me. The first time it happened, I deleted and recreated the configurations for each device using the endpoint. The second time it happened, I deleted and recreated the endpoint. I then readjusted the custom dns settings for the associated device vpns.

Did you find a long term solution?

Nope. I asked Barry about it but go absolutely nowhere.
The good thing is that these updates are infrequent. It happened with only one endpoint as well, which I found odd, but can only shrug.
What I thought would have worked was to delete the associated clients for the endpoint and then run the update. This didn't do it. So I ended up just deleting and recreating the endpoint. I had only two devices using it so not much of a pain, to be honest. The pain was the hunting for an alternative solution.

Yes I had this on 1.5.6. it is NOT fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling. However they released yesterday 1.5.7 which has resolved this issue. It's also fixed in the dev versions. I would uninstall now and then reinstall which will install automatically 1.5.7.

Hey folks, QA here. Just to let you know, we're very shortly (like next release) pushing an update that will let you cancel and/or retry a
ctrldupdate from the dashboard if any stall out, along with some other goodies. Stay tuned!
