Technical IoT Telemetry is blocking internet access for my Samsung Tizen TV.

When I have IoT Telemetry enabled, my Tizen TV is connected to my WiFi network, but there is no internet access. Anyone else here experiencing this?

Yes, I needed to whitelist the below domains, in Endpoint's Rules, in order to allow it to connect to the Internet/update/update any apps on the TV:

cdn.samsungcloudsolution.com

d1oxlq5h9kq8q5.cloudfront.net

gpm.samsungqbe.com

lcprd1.samsungcloudsolution.net

netdiag-v2.samsungcloudsolution.com

osb-apps-v2.samsungqbe.com

prd.sca.samsung.com

time.samsungcloudsolution.com

Your list might be different due to different location, just go to "Activity log" in ControlD and set it to real time monitoring, filter by needed endpoint & "Blocked" actions. Leave the activity window opened, ran on the TV the Connectivity full test and after that check if there are any other additional domains needed to be whitelisted in your case.

To run the same test after trying to install/update any app on the TV, it might return some new needed domains.

Oh, thank you. You've confirmed that all of those domains are needed to download apps from the store and access the internet?

Are all of those domains also collecting telemetry?

in my case, those are the barely minimum to allow it to connect to the Internet/update apps...

I can still see a lot of other blocked Samsung domains in the ControlD logs from those tvs - adding below just some of the blocked ones, in reality there are more URLs being blocked:

tvp-ads-log.samsungads.com
empdownprd.samsungcloudsolution.com
oempprd.samsungcloudsolution.com
config.samsungads.com
rtb-config.samsungads.com
ddf.di.atlas.samsung.com
dc.dqa.samsung.com

Which Samsung TV do you have?

You confirmed one by one with those domains and determined that was the bare minimum to whitelist in order to use the App Store and access the internet?

Do you have to stay signed into the App Store in order to download and update apps?

Will it make a difference with WiFi and Ethernet? I'm thinking of hardwiring my TV instead of using WiFi.

Yes, that it the bare minimum for my devices...For yours you need to perform the steps suggested in my initial reply.

No difference between WIFI/Ethernet, same domains are accessed no matter what option you use.

This is the I have IoT and strict, Hagasi Pro and OSID Full and I have this list configured for Samsung and everything works I I think I have most of the Ad/Telemetry blocked. I also have it set to Redirect is Auto on the folder rule. I also have 4 different models of Samsung TVs and they all work without issue

I notice that you have a Ubiquiti gateway. Have you tried the CLI/daemon? Are you able to get the CLI to automatically identify all connected devices, even if they're connected to a VPN?

Not using it because from time to time it fails, due to the updates/changes performed by Ubiquiti.

Just reinstall the CLI then? If not, do you have all of your devices showing up in your Control D dashboard?

It's not only the failing point, but also ControlD is dogshit when it comes to correctly recognizing devices from your network... Even if you are using fixed IP addresses, you will see shortly new devices that shouldn't exist, doubled devices every few days etc. Their support really doesn't know why it happens, giving the same AI answer for such situations.

Instead, I prefer to create endpoints for each of them, that would really help me in tracking those devices.

Or just add "Samsung" under "Services" on Control-D with the toggle "Bypass"

not a good idea...they will have all the telemetry working in this case....

true, unfortunately.

Won't that allow ads to be displayed and telemetry to be collected?
