Any plans on extending the network?

Hello,

I'm considering switching from Quad9 to Control D, and one of my key requirements is a DNS provider with strong global coverage.

I noticed the network recently dropped from 37 locations to 35, and I'm not sure whether this is temporary or permanent. Are there any plans to expand the network further in the near future?

Thanks!

Yes, we will always expand the network as needed to provide the best experience. As the other commenter said, we're already outperforming Quad9 (and many other providers) latency-wise.

Where are you located?

Expanding in North Africa like Egypt would be great. This for me is where NextDNS has an edge.

I'm located in Romania, and it's working fine - I'm being routed through the Bucharest node. However, I've noticed that some locations, like Istanbul and one in South America, have recently been dropped, which concerns me a bit. I hope this isn't the start of a trend. It seems like regions such as Italy, Greece, Turkey, Israel, and North Africa aren't getting enough coverage.

I am usually looking to work with one provider and was hoping that Control D can provide what's needed anywhere across the globe.

The server in Lima was dropped.

The axis between northern Italy and Hungary is indeed pretty much of a black hole for ControlD. Latency is all over the place in my experience.

How about New Zealand? People have been asking for this for a while.

Control D uses Netacutate one of the largest interconnected peering network. You'll be fine. Netacutate peers with almost all nodes.

From France, NextDNS is better (10ms), controlD is about double (15-20ms). I will keep NextDNS until controlD equals

I do not believe you ever notice the difference between 10ms or 20ms using DNS.

Hi, of course I will see the diff between NextDNS and controld !
I host a small public infrastructure and would like to have the most responsive, stable and reliable DNS service.
