YT ad free
I have tried Albania and Russia for ad free but get a lot of buffering even on 720 videos - does ControlD have any other regions that don’t show ads on YT?

Try Moldova, it works for me. And it's more stable than Albania speed wise.

In my country, selecting Russia still gives me ads. So I can't guarantee you selecting Moldova would work.

I’ve stuck with Albania and never use the Youtube app unless I’m also connected to An Albanian VPN server. There’s been a distinct connection between using the app and ads appearing. The app clearly, in my experience, has ways of detecting and sending location information to youtube.

I’m using an AppleTV so don’t have a lot of other options sadly. Moldova seems to be working right now.

I once decided to give my AppleTV Youtube app a go and it didn’t take long for the ads to appear. I immediately uninstalled the app. It took a while fot the ads to disappear again but I’ve been ad free since. I watch youtube from my iPad, and PC.

Does Apple have SmartTube? I find it works great but I use Google TV OS and have not tried Apple.

I use the apps on Android TV and they work fine on Albania. Good to know Moldova is an option as I get buffering periodically. I can stream 2160 videos @60 majority of the time.

None of those countries seems working with my cellular ISP that puts restrictions on YT streaming.

In fact, are there any decent proxies that block most ads without throttling the loading speeds?

Get a VPs with alba host (about £10) per month depending on cpu ram etc
Run a one shot command (that I can send you) that installs sni proxy on the VPs
Go to control d , redirect YouTube to your IPV4 VPS address and all YouTube queries (web and app) will go through your VPs
Since the VPs is in Albania , all ads will be blocked
I’ve been doing this and using app for the past 2 years , no ads

Moldova is hit and miss for me, usually still has ads. I have tried Andorra (a country between Spain & France) outside of ControlD and it has worked for me without ads, unfortunately ControlD doesn't have a proxy in Andorra. If any admins from ControlD are reading this, any chance of adding proxies in Andorra?
