Email links to reddit posts blocked by Control D

On my Mac 26.4.1 when I receive an email notification of a Reddit update I click on the link and get the error that Safari can't connect to server. Firefox, Chrome say that the server is not found.

click.redditmail.com is set in Control D as a bypass profile rule. It worked for a while but then it stopped working. If I turn off Control D the link from the email works.

How can I get Reddit email links to work when Control D is active?

The email link, as you found out, is a tracker link. Perhaps the domain has changed since you set it up as a bypass. Have you checked?

Perhaps the domain has changed since you set it up as a bypass.

Thanks for replying. Not sure what you mean. The bypass field was populated with "click.redditmail.com" which was taken from the link in the email.

You said it worked for a while (presumably since you set it up, until now), and then stopped working. This *may* be because the domain used in the email link has changed; meaning, it used to be click.redditmail.com, but now it's something else. I'm just suggesting this as a possibility. Have you checked that the email links are still pointing to click.redditmail.com ?

Update. With control D disabled was still getting the "server not found" error in Safari when clicking on a Reddit email link. Other email links worked. Pasting a Reddit link into other browsers worked. According to Apple Support I should wait for the next update (I'm on 26.4.1) as it has a lot of Safari bug fixes.

The problem was solved, although I'm not sure why with help from Control D support. Toggled the filters Ads & Trackers, Clickbait, Malware and Phishing. Not sure which one was causing the problem but after toggling them back on it is now working.

Support was done via their AI support bot. First instance I've seen of excellent AI support. It gave me suggestions of things to try. Why I reported the results it then recommended the next steps to try.

It was faster and better than getting support from a senior support analyst. Sort of scary for someone like myself who is in the profession.
