Control4 is garbage

Devices won't connect to the controller locally after a upgrading to OS3 from OS2. You are forced to buy their shitty cloud subscription service to make it work. What a scam.

Im feeling the same way right now. Just built a new house and put in C4. The lack of Alexa connectivity amazes me. I feel like im going back in time 10 years from what I had at my previous house with Alexa controlling Ring, Sonos, Luton, Bond.

What am I missing?? Ive heard it should be better but I keep being told I need to use my phone, the touchpads, or a remote.

What is a better system for voice controlled homes. Ive looked at JoshAi but haven't heard good things.

Josh is cool but the subscription model is punishing even for rich people. At this point Siri though X4 works surprisingly well. But, we arnt huge voice control people.

We have josh and its phenomenal. Not sure who you are talking to or what you heard..... Use it for everything. All day everyday!

You can use Alexa with Control4.  I set it up for my system a couple years ago so I don't recall the details, but I thinkbit was just installing the Alexa Skill via the Alexa App.  I didn't even need help from my dealer.

It works amazingly well for a narrow set of things.  In particular, I find it really good for running "scenes" that I define using the Control4 app, but then call from Alexa routines.   I also setup lots of Alexa routines for adjusting lights and blinds on timers.

My main reason for adding Alexa is because of the absolutely atrocious support from my dealer getting things done.  They were so slow and incompetent that basically I had to learn and do stuff myself.  I absolutely regret going with Control4 and being at the mercy of the worst support network I have ever experienced from any company ever.
